Removing face peach fuzz

i was wondering if there is any method to remove a rather heavy peach fuzz of thin but long light brown hair extended all over the face. it seems to me that electrolysis would not work for me as it is a lot work to be done. in addition hair grow very very closely together and follicles are very tiny. and i havent found any that competent electrologist in my area to complete that task. maybe James could, but he lives in another continent. are there any other methods, such waxing, laser/ipl, enzyme inhibitors or anything else that might work? i am kind of desperate. my next solution will honestly be suicide.

unfortunately, i hear that suicide does not work … the damn hair continues to grow post-mortum <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

so i guess you are stuck with electrolysis and, …well, with us <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

on a serious note, i don’t know how to answer your question. I’ll let the professionals chime in.

Loney,

Electrolysis is the only method that is considered permanent according to the American Medical Association. Fine hairs should not require multiple treatments per hair if they have not been forcibly removed previously (waxing, tweezing, threading…) A good electrologist can make a lot of headway in a 1 hour treatment by thining out the growth. Remember, you are not going to get rid of it all overnight. You should start to see a dramatic difference in the amount of hair you have after the fist couple hours of treatment. As far as fine follicles are concerned, probes come in many different sizes and a .002 or .003 would work just fine. Where are you located that you can’t find a decent electrologist?

it is impossible to get a good electrologist here in athens (greece). there are 2-3 in the whole and they dont even know the difference between thermolysis/blend and galvanic. all beauty salons and dermatologists are practicing laser/ipl. i tried it but it only made my problem worse. i tried electrolysis too, but i got scars. so i guess there is no solution.i just cant live that nightmare any longer.

Loney, I really hope you aren’t serious about suicide. I promise you I understand how embarrassing facial hair can be and how much it lowers your self-esteem but that is seriously going too far. I had a problem with anorexia when I was in my teens and to top that off I’m Lebanese. I have coarse hair around my eyebrows and on my chin and I have the long light brown hair ALL OVER MY FACE. I am seeing an electrologist but I understand that you can’t find a good one in your country. If it is bothering you so much that you would consider suicide, you might want to consider waxing as a temporary method to help you feel less self-conscious about it. Possibly you could look in neighboring countries for a better electrologist? I know that might not be possible financially or possibly that is not even an option at all but maybe there are better practioners in neighboring European countries. The most important thing for you to remember is that it’s probably not near as noticeable to everyone else as it is to you and you’re still a good person and a valuable human being regardless of something as superficial as facial hair.

You’re in Athens… hummmmm

I’m very surprised that there are no good electrologist considering how many people are hairy at home (no joke there, I’m from right next door in BG)

I think that in this case you should get a second hand professional machine and have your sisters/friends/mother learn how to use it well, and do your face. Read this whole site and the hairtell.com site and have them read it (or a translation of it if necessary). Get a few of the books that have been recommended on the topic and go for it.

How old are you? Do you think that do-it-yourself (with a friend) is a good idea for you?

Also do you mind showing us a picture of what the fuzz looks like?

By the way, you speak EXCELLENT English, slang and all… how come?

Loney,

i found this listing for Greece but it does not say what city it’s in, but you can find out what 243 area code is.

where did you find that listing for greece?
i checked that phone number, but it is no electrolysis place, it belongs to someone who is making furniture. thanks anyway.

I have no idea where i found it anymore. I just did a bunch of searches on the web. Maybe the listing is so old that the number has been given to someone else… I don’t know. Sorry for the false lead <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

But I have 2 girls from Athens working with me in the office, so I will ask them if they know anything.

My Greek friend told me to try this place:
http://www.bodyline.gr/en/services/index2.asp

She also said that her aunt had her bikini done there and she is satisfied with the treatment, price and results.

Apparently, there are many beauty & health centers, as well as spas and weight control centers all over Athens that do electrolysis (as i would have imagined there would be). But you have to search for beauticians and weight loss centers in the phone directory and THEN find out IF they offer electrolysis.

Let us know what happens.

Hi can you tell me if you found a place that solved your problem as I’m in the same situation as you now …
