regrow hair after laser removal

hi guys,

so I kind of have a weird questions here. Im a male who had some laser hair removal sessions on my face which thinned the hair out, mostly around the cheeks and neck. The goatee area is still pretty thick. I now what to be able to grow my beard out because I like the way it looks. ( please no attacks, im here for advice) I am wondering if something like minoxidil can make it work? The problem is the side effects like lowering testosterone, effecting libido, weight gain, etc. Are there any other methods I can use to make the hair regrow?

Hey mak500,

Unfortunately, I can’t comment on your specific questions. However, I am curious to know how you notice your hair regrowth after each laser treatment? Did you notice is was an even reduction that looked natural? Any patchiness or uneven results?

Thanks.

it’s been a few years since i had my last treatment. I did maybe 8? a little patchy yes,but it’s thick along the goatee area.

If it’s been several years and your regrowth from laser is still stable, then you will not be able to reverse the outcome. Laser has destroyed your hair follicles and they aren’t able to generate hair again.
The regrowth on the goatee that you mention is frequently noted because the goatee area on male beards is the only section that has very deep roots that not all lasers can penetrate as deep to successfully kill the follicles. Cheek and neck area has shallower hair follicles and that’s why laser worked in those areas.
As for taking pills or creams to try to regrow hair again, you only risk patchy results of uneven hairs growing in. If your face hair growth looks even and natural, I’d say don’t mess with it any further.
