Redness on knuckles after electrolysis

Hello, I have had electrolysis on my finger knuckles. I had at least 4 treatments and I don’t have a scaring problem but the redness bothers me. I don’t have pictures at the moment but it is just red dots. On a day where I am home they seem to be disappearing but when I go outside it becomes really red. I started to use sunscreen and moisturizer but it is still the same. There is still hair coming out so I will go for another but I am not sure. Like I said the problem is just the red dot look. Do you think it will fade when the treatments are over? Do you have any advise on it?

This topic is significantly explained both on the old posts here, and easily discovered on my website. This is normal angiogenesis and always seen on toes and fingers. Get-on-over to my website and download the free publications and watch the videos. Forget the sunscreen, etc., this is all normal. Check it out: www.electrologynow.com

Thank you, I will visit your website. I guess what scared me is that when I go outside it looks all red I thought it might be the sun causing it so I started using sunscreen.

Your skin is still healing and it will heal nicely, with time, determined by your individual healing powers. Did you discuss your concerns with your electrologist? It takes 8-10 full clearances, spread out over 12-18 months, according to your individual hair growth cycles to see permanence. New hair emerging is fabulous news because your electrologist can now see and treat the NEW group of hairs coming forth that wasn’t there last session. Pretty soon, you will run out of hair and be totally hair free on your fingers. The hairs should release with no resistance, no pulling, no traction, by the way.

My electrologist said I might have scratched it. I don’t remember scratching but I remember a few times when i was going through my bag the zipper part touched the area. She also said there is hair coming under the skin that can cause the redness and I should moisturize very often. She was right most of the red spots have hair coming out of them now. I have one treatment each mont so it has been like 4 months.

I’m just going to say, that the discovery of hair coming out of treatment sites is not a cause, nor a good thing. It tends to indicate the hair broke rather than was epilated successfully. Actually it doesnt bode terribly well for your electrologists treatments.

I agree with Seana, if the growing hair is irritating the skin, it means that it has been “guillotined” inside the follicle, that is, it has not been adequately treated. The cold (not the sun) outside is what could be accentuating the appearance of the red dots, sometimes to the point of looking almost purple.

She also treats my chin I haven’t had any problem in that area. If she didn’t remove the hair on my knuckles successfully do you think the red dots won’t heal, again it is not scar like.

Yes it is looking more purple sometimes. Do you think that is dangerous and should I stop the treatments for my knuckles?

They should heal fine and without trace, other than the hair still growing out of them…

Thank you.
