Redness doesn't go away after a long time?

Hello! I’ve had my first electrolysis session on my upper lip January 22, and I still have redness and reddish-brownish spots on it. I was using calendula lotion on it for the first week after (my electrologist told me to), after a week the redness wasn’t going away so I made an appointment with their dermatologist. She said my skin wasn’t burned and that I could be allergic to the metal the needle was made of, or calendula (I never was allergic to either of these, also what kind of allergy doesn’t go away 1,5 months later?), told me to stop using calendula and prescribed Baneocin powder and Locoid cream for 4 days. They didn’t help. I contacted them again, she prescribed Synthomycin (I don’t know if other countries have it, I live in Russia, but it’s an antibacterial cream). It didn’t help either. Now I’m using Levomecol (antimicrobial + antiphlogistic cream) and I guess it kiiiinda goes away but really slowly and I’m not even sure I’m not just imagining it?
I didn’t notice anything weird during the procedure except I had whiteheads for the first few days (apparently you’re not supposed to?).
So the questions are: 1) What could this be because my dermatologist doesn’t know, she only said this is the first case of something like this in 15 years of her working for that salon? 2) Will it go away eventually? and 3) if it does go away, should I give it another try or does it mean this method is not for my skin?
What it looks like now (the brownish skin around nose wings and the redness on chin are NOT a result of electrolysis):

First , STOP putting all this crap on your skin. It wont help, but it will provide contaminants which will make your situation worse or even cause other issues to develop.

This appears to be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation developing from angiogenesis. ( or just hyperpigmentation if you prefer). I have no idea why your electrologist wouldnt have known this, as it is a common reaction. Good news! It isnt scarring and is NOT permanent. It will fade, but can take a long time to do so.

See this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFKcx7XQDTc at about 2:30 .

Yes, Iluv2zap, it looks like hyperpigmentation to me too.

Hi Just…, should you continue with electrolysis, immediately after treatment, apply a cold compress to the area for 5 minutes.

Wash with a cleanser that contains lactic acid.

Let us know if you see any improvement.

I had electrolysis done to most of my face, neck and underarms.

Sadly, I am now experiencing redness and some tightness on my face when I smile.

I do NOT look ugly, but I need to find a way to get Rid Of The Redness and go back to my Original White Skin Color.

I am willing to do just about anything to fix this problem.

Does anybody know if any kind of Laser Machines can Help Correct this problem?

Currently, I am seeing a Dermatologist and they gave me some kind of pill to take for five days and some special liquid to put on my face for 10 minutes at a time to let the liquid sit there and doing this three times per day which is a hell of a job.

In any case, I am willing to seek out any good advice and tips from anybody who knows about what I am going through and Yes, I can send you pictures if you want to see what my face looks like.

I’m sorry to hear about your problems. You are welcome to link to photos hosted elsewhere.

The most important thing is to avoid any sun or tanning beds on the treated areas.

Follow your dermatologist’s instructions exactly.

You may find that silicone sheets help reduce redness. As your doctor about it.

Keep us posted!

When did you have your electrolysis session? Hours ago? Days ago? Weeks ago?
