Redheads and lasers

I have been searching through the old forums and most of the information I’ve seen is old so I’m posting again, forgive me.

I’ve been looking into getting laser hair removal on my bikini line. I have mostly red hair there. If I pull it out some of the roots are dark, others are lighter. I have been reading about the different types of lasers so I’m not sure if it’s possible for the laser to work at all on me. Is laser an option for me at all? Or do I have to resort to electrolysis if I want permeant hair removal? Thanks for your help in advance.

For the hairs that have black roots, you would see success if enough thermal energy reached deep enough to affect the hair making factory part of the follicle. Other, roots that are brown, red, and lighter, would have to be permanently treated with electrolysis, otherwise you are throwing money down the toilet. Getting some consults with a reputable and skilled laser specialist, using a real laser, would help. Put several opinions together and see is you can figure out the best way to spend your money. Of course, a skilled professional electrologist can start and finish the job for you.

I wish you luck and good outcome whatever you choose to do. In the Chicago area, you will find many great electrologists to accomplish your goal and I bet the same goes for laser choices as well.
