red "pin prick" spot not healing

Three weeks ago I had some work done on my upper and lower lip areas (my electrologist uses a Silhouet-Tone thermolysis machine). Usually the redness on the lower lip area fades after a few days, but this time it’s sticking around. But my main concern is a bright red “pin prick” spot that doesn’t seem to want to go away either. I know it’s just one spot, but it’s in a prominent place that I see every time I look in the mirror, and I want it gone (and combined with the surrounding redness things look all the worse). I’ve tried all the usual after-care recommendations (aloe gel, tea tree oil, leaving it alone) but it’s still there, red as ever.

Any suggestions as to (a) what’s causing this and (b) what do to about it? Thanks.

How much tea tree oil did you use and for how long?

Can you submit a QUALITY picture?

Here’s the best pic I could manage:

I first swabbed the area with hibiclens as soon as I got home from my appointment and then planned to just do nothing apart from my usual washing routine. But when the redness, and that spot in particular, didn’t show any signs of fading, I started to apply a bit of tea tree oil using a q-tip over the course of a few days. I use the “Hollywood Beauty” brand of TTO since it’s pre-diluted (my understanding is that TTO shouldn’t be applied undiluted). Apart from looking bad (although the picture makes things look less bad; who knows, maybe I’m making it out to be worse than it actually is), but I also feel an occasional twinge of discomfort coming from that very spot, again 3 weeks after the area was treated, which is what has me worried that things aren’t healing the way they should be.
