red hair gone black

I ditto what Emilily said I am in the same position as her now a year down the road only more like every 6 weeks for appointments, no more dark / black hairs.

You are just starting out and realising that what you thought were the same hairs you were plucking over and over were in fact different hairs.
No hair grows back within a week, stick with it hun if you have a good electrolysis you’ll be rid of them soon it took till 8 months for me to be rid of the dark ones.

Thank you guys and gals patience, i hate waiting haha. But I will do it I don’t want to hear my man go “get your chin off my shoulder your prickers are hurting me.” lol so when do i start worrying if i am not getting anywhere? can someone tell me why if my hair is red why they come back black? i assume it has to do with cooking it lol

I am trying to attach pictures for everyone to see of the black hairs that are concerning me… it wont work can someone contact me so I can email them to you… adamst2006@hotmail.com

If you create an account at a website like photobucket, you can upload photos. You can then copy the IMG code link and then paste them here in your post.

If you want, you can send your pictures to me at deefahey@yahoo.com or deedeefahey@gmail.com and I will post them here for you.

rodeogal the easiest way to post pictures I’ve found is to use dropbox. You can get a free account which works for most things. Once the dropbox software is installed you can publish files by dragging them to a dropbox folder called public on your own computer. Right click on them and choose copy public link. Then paste that into your post here. Dropbox constantly synch’s a set of folders on your computer. It makes it easy to post pictures to here.

If the darker hairs are bothering you address them first with electrolysis and be done with them.Red hair often is a mix of lighter and darker hairs. Sometimes hair color can be affected by the stage of growth and get lighter as time goes on. It just means they are early anogen hairs. Just zap em and be done with it.Dont pluck …at all.You only delay treatment on the hairs you pluck by months. The hairs will keep coming back, until they dont. Be patient. It’s like a slowly turning off tap and takes a year or more on average providing you re consistent with appointments .

I posted your photos rodeogal. I did edit out most of your face.

Can you restate your questions now that we have pictures? Do you have BEFORE picture that I could post for you?

I will answer your email to me here on the open forum, so others can learn.

You are early into your hair removal journey and the hair you see is NEW hair, not regrowth. I see gaps where hair was treated, which is cool. Your skin is healing nicely. As long as you don’t feel like you are being tweezed and you are healing well, you should feel well-satisfied that all is going well for you.

Remember, NO TWEEZING or pulling hair out with any method while you are having electrolysis. Keep on a schedule. The first six months are the hardest. Stay loyal.

by looking at these pictures how can you tell from the untrained eye that this is new growth? I am sorry I do not have a before picture. I have noticed some bald spots is what i call them happening so that is a plus.

These pictures are after your 7th treatment, right? You’ve had seven 30 minute sessions in 8 weeks, correct? I assume you were not getting fully cleared each time either. This is not the same hair, unless the hairs were breaking off below the skin as she was removing the hair.

Were you tweezing the hair before you started electrolysis?

Remember, you have more hair than you can see at any one time because hair grows and sheds. You have to wait for each and every bad boy hair to come to the surface so it can be seen and treated. That takes at least three hair growth cycles or nine to twelve months to accomplish. You are only two months into this. Be patient! Don’t freak out and be nervous.

As far as the subject goes, red hairs gone black, ???,

That’s why I think these are new hairs and that’s why a before picture would have been helpful.

Well i figured it out they are coming in brown actually. I went for a 20 min session had a 30 min session scheduled. Today I wake up and see tons of black hairs that came through exscuse my brown lol but I will wait till Tuesday. I think i messed up my schedule by making an appt last friday for a little bit of clearing on top of the previous tuesday. But then again the hair wouldnt or shouldnt be growing back so quickly. i will say though i do see a difference.

Hey rodeogal, the real question is, what does it feel like when your electrologist removes the hair? Is there pain during the zap and then NO PAIN during the “tweezing”? If so, they’re new hairs and your electrologist is doing a good job.

I did have one early on session, though, where I had “instant regrowth” afterward. The machine was old and set too low, I could barely feel the zaps, and the woman was plucking my hair out afterward–a lot of these broke off, and so while I had scabbing afterward (it was body work), there was also hair poking through the scabs. That is a bad treatment. But I’ve since had good treatments, and it is not the same hair growing back.

I do feel pain. Not as bad as it was before. I have also noticed though like yesterday i had an itch so i itched it and what i think may be a pimple had a hair come with it… so idk… Sometimes I don’t feel pain but that is after she has been going on and i think my neck just goes numb. I have noticed though if i am in before someone else i feel more pain then when i am the first client. I do go home red and i get bumps afterwards which i never had when i pluck so that has to be good too. Sometimes i can feel her tug but she goes back and zaps it again. I sometimes wonder if they break off when she pulls them i occasionaly will get “dark” hairs that grow i mean really dark and then just fall out when washing. I can see where I orig. started is def better then it was before so it is working in that aspect. But now she is going elsewhere and they are coming in dark but thinner. I did go see another electrolysis and she did tell me the person i am with is very good but she said she thinks she is better. She said she is slower but costs a lot more money so i am not really to thrilled about that and have not had any treatments wit her. for a half hour with the new lady i saw she wants $70 for half hour where i pay $50 now.

I think the pain isnt as bad as before because the hairs are not as thick and dark. They are dark but thinner from what i can see.

Did you get a new electrolyis? or did the lady just figure out what she was doing wrong? I get scabbing but the other lady i saw said it was normal it will go away.

I have another question is it normal for hair to slide out after electrolysis like a couple days after the procedure.

Is it possible for being cold outside for regrowth to occur faster? I know sounds stupid but I had a treatment done and then 3 days later I look awful. I can start seeing clearing on one side though not as much as id hope but it is better.

Maybe, but I wouldn’t use the cold weather as an explanation. Perhaps another hair growth cycle has clicked in. If you have been a tweezer, shaver, previous laser devotee or waxer, then that makes surprises like this more likely to occur.

Without quality pictures or more details about your situation or knowing what the practitioner is doing, it’s difficult to answer this question.

Can taking Vitamin D cause hair growth or regrowth? Just wondering I am lacking vit. d and doc put me on 5000mg of it… However I had hair problems before this so just wondering if it will make it worse lol
