RED BUMPS after treatment? PLZ HELP!

Hi,

I switched electrologist today. Hair treatment was pretty much painfree blend, but she did use a slightly bigger probe that had been used on me before (4 instead of 3). Anyhow, 4 hours after treatment it seems each follicle she made an insertion into has a red angry raised bump instead? I hope I don’t break out (that’d be like 100 pimples!)I had experienced these before but they would subside a couple of hours later. Should I be worried? Is this sign the treatment energy is too high? Probe is too big? I have had thermolysis and blend done before and this reaction was minimal ( lasted on a couple of hours). Can someone please help?

thx!

Are the raised bumps large? I am thinking it might be bits of hair impacted in the follicle, or hairs that were broken/severed in the follicle growing into the skin. This can happen, and I get a few of these bumps 1-3 days after having an area treated.

Aftercare is critical, make sure you use pure tea tree oil at night to dissolve any necrotic tissue and pus that may appear. Apply pure aloe vera gel (food grade if you can find it) twice a day, and avoid touching the treated area. And mention this to your electrologist next time you go to see her.

Do you know what electrolysis machine she uses, and what kind of vision equipment she has?

Hi VickieC,

So, today the raised bumps were gone and in their place were tiny little pin prick whiteheads. This is a first for me. SO I am sure the bumps were just an inflammatory response against a possible small infection. I had gotten a couple of whiteheads here and there before with treatments, but this is a first ( I have roughly 10-12). Hmmmmm, I did just spend a whole month in the tropics sweating like a madwoman, but I did not break out at all while I was there. What should I do? Should I wait another 24 hours and then extract them, or should I just let them be and dry out?

thx,
bella

btw, she uses an Apilus (don’t know the model though) and magnifying eye pieces.

Inflammatory responses are temporary. White pustules are temporary and disappear quickly. Keep the area clean and dry. Do give your electrologist feedback about your healing so she can guide you further. She may also make some adjustments in the energy level to prevent this. On your part, no touching a newly treated area. You will introduce bacteria into tiny wounds and get them infected.

Leave the pustules alone. They will mostly disappear after a warm shower. Many people like liquid Dial soap for such events. All of this is TEMPORARY. I like witch hazel, tea tree oil and aloe vera gel for aftercare, in order to prevent such side effects and speed up the healing.
