Recommended machine to buy in 2017?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here and I am so happy that I found this forum. I have been reading a lot about electrolysis in the past days and have the intention to continue.

I am a guy mid-20s and have suffered from hair growth for a good amount of time now. I tried a proper laser in two different salons, about 10 sessions on my back and shoulders. Today I sit with much more hairs (even stubborn hairs) than I had to begin with, so in other words I am not satisfied with result at all. The result is very short-term (3weeks maximum). As I said after 10 sessions I now sit with stubborn hairs on my shoulders, and I am not okay with that.

Once for all I need to find a solution, and based on my research electrolysis is the way to go, even though its time consuming.

I have booked an appointment with a salon nearby, a woman who claims to have over 25 years experience, which is good. I had the idea to go there for 2-3 sessions, before I buy a professional studio machine and start to do it (myself/someone close to me). Now I know this is not a joke, it requires a lot of time and reading, and I don’t mind. I might even take a course or something. I will then teach it to someone close to me, so they can do this procedures on me. Well, enough about my situation.

My question to you all is what machine is to prefer?
I know that most salons use Clareblend or Apilus? Are those the one you recommend? What are the different between the various models they offer? What about price range? What would you recommend for my use?

I be thankful for any advices.

Continue having a great weekend!

Does anyone have experience with this Clareblend Essence?

https://www.prestigeelec.com/shop/clareblend-epilators/essence-epilator/

The clareblend essence is one of two machines that seem to be most preferred by electrologists in a recent informal satisfaction survey. The other was the instantron spectrum elite. They are fine machines.

Thank you for your comment.

I would pretty much be working with the blend mode if I do it on my own body. Do you have know if the two mentioned machines do blend well enough?

clareblends are well known for their blend capabilities and I’ve had several electrologists tell me that the instantron works perfectly for blend. I dont own one ( but might eventually) so I cant really tell you from personal experience.

I have had training on the Instantron in blend modality and would always prefer it over the Apilus Junior i own if i did blend.

Thank you so much. I will do some research on these two machines. Specially Instantron, seems electrologist are satisfied with it.

Do you know if Instantron has a local supplier in North-Europe? Do they ship to Scandinavia? My plan is to spend around $1500-2000. Can I find used Instantron machine for this price?

Hi again.

I wonder how Apilus Senior II is for my use?

This guy has 0 feedbacks, any experience with such sellers?

I have an excellent machine for sale. Mint condition barely used since I’m working in a different field. All parts in box.
Let me know if interested. I’m at 718-851-3128

Perfect, which machine is that? Do you ship to Europe?

I am interested in hearing opinions on the Clareblend Elegance Plus vs. the Instantron Elite Spectrum. I know the Clareblend epilator is designed around low-intensity slow-rise RF like the old Hinkel machines. How does the Instantron compare?

Clareblend does not hold a candle to the Spectrum FP IMO

Can you be more specific?

Where can I buy a classic Hinkel machine? I know they are out of production, but I don’t find anyone who sell an used Hinkel machine, and possibly ship to Sweden. Any advice? Is it any other machine which is a good substitute for this one? I have decided to not go for Clareblend, since it costs about $4500 dollar in my country, which is too expensive as my first machine. I appreciate any other advice.

I have one more question. Instead of creating a new thread, I just post it her.

I went to a professional clinic, and she removed a hair on my arm for testm using blend method. She said that it hurts a lot, but I almost didn’t feel anything. I told her that, she said that I was lucky.

I asked her what current she used, she said about 0,8 on Thermolysis and a little bit below 2 on current galvanic.

In my head, this level of intensity is very low, however I am not an expert. So my question is, did she used low intensity on purpose to make me come back and do a sell, or am I lucky as she said?

Based on this source:
http://www.sterex.com/learning-resources/section6/

To establish the ‘working point’, you have to set the Thermolysis (SWD) intensity to 0.4 set the Galvanic intensity to 20 (If you use technique 1).

She was far below this intensity.

I’m going to let the others take a crack at this one, I’ve been answering an awful lot recently…

Search for Texas electrolysis supply. They sell Hinkel machines. All Hinkel models do blend. Your other option is ebay but Hinkel machines are rare on ebay these days.

Thank you. I did call them a few times, but no answer. Do you know if they ship to Scandianavian countries? And what is a fair price for a Hinkel machine? Is that a machine you would recommend? thank you.

If have an answer, I be pleased to hear.

Sid recently TES had some issues with their phones. I 'm pretty sure its resolved now but they werent able to recieve calls on their 800 number for several days. The were asking people to call their local number Outside USA/Local: 281-486-5617. That’s the only reason I can think of TES wouldnt answer the phone. If you were having trouble reaching them I suggest trying back on monday. They show several hinkel epilators as available.
Hinkels are no longer made and TES is the only place I know of that might have any as they deal in used epilators.
