Really bad scabbing - should I drop my tech?

I’ve gone in to this place about five times and there’s always a bit of scabbing, but this last time was really bad and I’m worried that it’ll leave a scar behind. Is this normal or should I go to a different place?

That looks like way too big of a scab in my opinion. Have you contacted your tech? What did they say?

Please don’t pick at this and be very gentle to not allow the crust to fall off too early. I think you will probably have some prolonged discoloration but hopefully no lasting issues.

My opinion on whether you need to find a different tech depends on what their response was to knowing about this healing response

I did contact them and showed them the picture. They just said that I had a bleeder and sometimes it happens. They said to cleanse it once daily with a gentle cleanser and that I could put anti bacterial ointment on it if I wanted. They tried to say that some of the pitting was from acne scars, but I don’t have acne scars on my lip.

I just never saw anyone with a scab that big when I was looking here or red marks like this from a treatment and felt like this wasn’t typical at all. I read that keeping Vaseline on it would help it heal, do you think that’s a good idea?

Did you or your tech take any before pics? I would be curious to see them if they are mentioning seeing previous scarring in the area before electrolysis

bleeding, in my opinion, during treatment would be due to a slight missed insertion and not affect the healing process like this

What country/state are you receiving treatment in?

Not acceptable. If that was from Electrolysis. Run.

I’m getting it in TX

I would recommend letting that area heal completely before finding a different electrologist

Word of mouth is my favorite way of vetting electrologists so I’d reach out to local groups and see if anyone has a recommendation for a great electrologist that they have personally received treatment from

Any new electrologist you try only allow a short sample treatment before moving forward with additional sessions.
