QUICK QUESTION

maybe I’m not searching correctly but I’m going ask.
I’ve heard sunbathing the treated area should be avoided to prevent skin color changes at the treatment site. How long after the treatment should this be avoided? I’m a SCUBA diver thus the reason for my question.

The standard seems to be about 4-6 weeks after treatment. Just make sure that if you do go out in the sun, to use a high SPF sunblock, like SPF 30.

I’ve heard as long as 6 months. And your skin can’t be tan when you go in.

for best results, your skin needs to be as white as possible for the entire length of treatment (so 6-8 treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart). laser is attracted to dark pigment and works by targeting dark hairs on light skin. the lighter the skin, the higher the settings that can be used, and the higher the settings, the more chance that you will actually KILL the hair. if you absolutely need to go in the sun, use a high SPF sunblock, but since this is a pretty expensive procedure and you probably want the best fastest results possible for your money, I would avoid the sun for that period.
