Rather than create multiple posts i’d rather just put all my questions into one post if that is ok.

1 -I am in Australia and the local hair removal clinic uses a SPL machine. As I will be treating some back and shouder hair would this machine give permanent results? I do not know the specific make/model.

2 - I have shaved and used depilatory creams in the past and after a week or so have found that I have ‘ingrown’ hairs causing redness and irritation. Is this likely to happen with SPL?

After one treatment of SPL, how long will the hair generally take to shred and how long will these areas be ‘hair free’ for?

  1. No, SPLs and IPLs are not best for hair removal. Please read our FAQs at the link below first. It will explain what kind of hair laser can affect and what machine is best for your skin type. You don’t mention whether your hair is dense and coarse. That’s the only type any machine can actually affect. So we need to start there. If you don’t have the right type of hair, it doesn’t matter what machine they have. And many clinics won’t be honest about this.

  2. No, the hair is damaged and it sheds.

  3. This is also in the FAQs. Shedding takes 3 weeks. Then the hairfree period lasts for another 3-6 weeks depending on the area.
