Questions about skin tags

I’ve done some reading here about the benefits, and also the risks associated with treating moles and skin tags. For moles it would seem to me the process of treatment is fairly straitforward, you are treating the hairs growing from it as you normally would, needle down hair follicle. I dont understand how skin tage are treated though. In this case there arent necessarily any hair folicle to treat. How if the process of treating a skin tag treatment performed?

Ideally, a skin tag is cauterized so it dies and won’t grow back. I think it can even be frozen off just like a wart but I don’t know if that’s how a dermatologist would or can treat it. I’m also not sure if your question means you have hair growing out of a skin tag… Which would be kind of rare

If you do have a skin tag that has hair on it, obviously you’d want to cauterize it first toget rid of the unwanted skin growth and then treat the follicle.

No the question was by way of just learning and curiousity really. My partner has some skin tags and they are prevelent in his family but I’ve no immediate plans of treating them, I’m still very much in a study mode and not even touching needle to skin at this point. From what I understand it’s an advanced technique so not something I would try until I had a couple years under my belt. I was more interested in looking at the techniques involved to further my knowledge on that topic. I did find some of the answers via web search in anyevent, seems like it’s done mostly by thermolysis and blend with the needle touching the bace or neck of the skin tag.
