Question

How long approximately does it take to do the lower legs (ankles to knees)?

Depends on how many follicles with hair growing inside them you have. Depends on the modality of electrolysis used. Depends on the speed of the electrologist that you choose to use. Depends on the skillfull and careful insertions the electrologist makes. Depends on how much time you spend upfront, on the table, to get to a first clearance and then your loyalty to maintain those clearances. If you are aggressive and your electrologist is aggressive, you can be finished in 9-18 months. If you are have hair density of 150 hairs per square centimeter, you might be looking at a little longer time.

I had my legs done decades ago and I am as smooth as glass to this very day Love it.

If you have coarse, dark hair on pale skin, laser hair reduction, followed by electrolysis for the final hairs that laser cannot see, would be a good option. Otherwise, electrolysis can do it all and it all will be PERMANENT – guaranteed.

A very encompassing answer, Dee.

I just wanted to add one other human factor: tolerance. I had a woman who usually slept through the treatment or played on her phone when I was clearing her lower legs. One day she came in stressed out, dehydrated, after barely sleeping the night, and I couldn’t proceed with the treatment at my usual speed and her usual settings. I had to lower the settings to her new low-tolerance level and spend more time on each hair to get it right. Had she done her “homework” of drinking enough water and getting a good night’s sleep, like usually, more could have been accomplished during that time slot.

Very true, yb. That is why we cannot give easy, one-liner accurate answers to questions like, “How long will it take to do my…?”

Thank you for the answer guys  I know about the different factors involved and I meant to say under all the right conditions - good tolerance, good practitioner, fast machine, etc…

I think my second question is, how can this be all accomplished if travel to another country is involved? I need to travel to the country next to me if I want to get my legs done (…and not taking 5 years…) and under all the right conditions, with leg hair already treated by laser, what would the schedule or time line go (approx) with clearances and time? Taking in travel by plane and staying at backpackers into consideration? Haha sorry if this is a complex question!

As dfahey said above, aside from the electrologist factor, there is a number of other important factors, like how much hair you have and how aggressively you tackle it.

Some new factors that you are introducing now are LHR, your LHR technician’s skill, the laser’s compatibility with your type of skin and hair, the effectiveness of LHR for your hair, and the effectiveness of LHR in general. I don’t know what LHR accomplishes in your particular case. Will it reduce your hair permanently, or will it only be a long-term reduction, and the reduced hair will grow back eventually?
