Question for platinum pure owners

A quick question for those here who own the Apilus Platinum pure with …or without the synchro option. I’m not 100% sure I understand the advantages or disadvantages of synchro plus, but , is there any way to determine from the controls if a machine has this option or does not? If I understand correctly, which I may not , it’s just the programming for the machine, so there isnt an extra button on the machine that would be visible on the control panel? Is it possible to have dectro install the option afterwards or is it only possible to get this option by buying a machine that has it already?

Seana, try and have trial with the APP it’s an excellent unit, the sychno is an must especially if you’re treating very strong stubborn hair.
As far as I know this is feature that can be added at a later date I did this with mine in the Uk, however double check with Dectro incase there has been any changes.
By the way good luck with your new business venture.

I spoke to dectro this morning. The reason I had asked about upgrade-ability is I had spotted a platinum pure new in box at a much lower price . So I have that answer. My colleague and myself are looking around to see if anyone in town has one we can try. We’d both like to know whether we can work with the machine. That’s proving more challenging to find, it may be there are none in town.

The only way to know if that feature is actually on the machine or not is to open the menu of programs, and see if it is on the list or not.
The Platinum has buttons on it that are used for many functions at different times. If the machine does not have Synchro or Synchro Plus, their would be no difference in the number of buttons visible on the machine, just what come up as selection options in that menu screen and one less function for the function keys.

James I spoke to the technician at Dectro just a few minutes after posting. So I have the information as to is there any physically visible difference.Thank you though, and it may help others.

Notice how no one posted the answer to the question on here?
With as many platinum users as read this forum. :sigh:

Oh, well, back to the cabana for me.

What’s the difference between Synchro and Synchro Plus?

I never heard of Synchro Plus and I owned a Platinum.

Maybe that is why no one answered.

On the XCell Pro, that I own now, there is SynchroBlend on the blend side and Synchro on the thermolysis side.

Good video (a couple minor errors), but this should give you “raw data” to consider that the papilla is not singularly important to destroy for hair removal.

Point: where does the original hair come from? Does a papilla create ahair, or do stem cells in the epidermis? You can draw your own conclusions …

Hummm … tried to make the above a new topic … didn’t happen. Sorry about that.

James, i saw this thread just a few minutes go. Otherwise i would have answered.

Apparently there is none. At least between my machines (an older Pure with Synchro and a recent Pure with Synchro+) the settings can be transferred without any adaption.

As far as I can tell they are the same feature. And dectro can add the feature to any platinum pure they just charge marginally more for it. I may be making a trip to dectro to try one next month so I should be able to tell you more then!

Well having been to the shagrilah of electrolysis toys today, I can positively say that synchro was everything it was made out to be. I was duly impressed with the platinum pure with this option. I was somewhat less imprssed with the Xcell however, the treatments were very similar to the platinum but I think both me and the person I was with found the interface overly complicated, without a whole lot of benefit. Happy for the experience for sure.

It sounds like we have pretty similar thoughts on both machines then… I really disliked the interface on the xcell (but, more power to those that like it, it’s just not for me).

I wasnt the only one, my partner didnt like the xcell either. Might have had something to do witht he instructor who demo’ed the unit searching for a stylus to interact with it. I think we both kinda looked at each other with the same thought: We dont want to be doing this while setting up a new shiny toy with a client. The fact you could update the software was a plus, but I think we both wondered why this would need to be done if it didnt provide new functionality. The only reason I could come up with, was sofftware bugs. I think we also both liked being able to push a button , I’m not so sure on the longevity of life of a touch screen device.

A@ Dee, the “platinum” is no longer available, but there is a Platinum 2 model now. I still dont understand the difference between that and the pure/pro.

The point of software update option is to continue refining the user interface based on feedback. And in a few years they’ll develop a new algorithm for some new mode and call it SynchoMax so the model is ever evolving. Customers like the idea that their brands are constantly innovating or improving equipment.

There’s been mention that the current business plan is to develop a completely new model every 10 years. In 2024 the regulars on Hairtell would have something new to discuss.

Yes, but I understand the next one is a "virtual " machine. We wish the hair away.

I seem to be having a problem with the one I’m using firing automatically ( for me when using pico) as I’m inserting. I’m pretty sure I have it set to pedal mode though so I dont get it.On the phone to Dectro I think to sort this out. Seems to do it when working on myself, but not when working on someone else.

AFAIK, software updates are already possible on the Platinums. Actually the difference between the Platinum and the Pure is (was…) two buttons, a printer, and a some details in software.
