Question about waxing...

I receive laser on my upper arms and shoulders every 6 weeks. The hair actually grows back exactly after 5 weeks of treatment. To save myself money until some real solution is discovered, would it be a good idea to wax? There are numerous hairs, but they are thin and wispy. Will waxing make these hairs thicker? Basically, laser is just an expensive waxing at this point and it’s been killing me financially for years. Any ideas?

Thanks

If you have some skilled electrologists in your locale, you could indeed achieve PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL and be done with this scene forever. Chasing hair for the rest of your life is hardly what one desires.

The solution is simple, however, I must say that when I recommend electrolysis, I sometimes forget that finding an electrologist that uses microflash technology correctly with good vision equipment is not so simple for the consumer. That’s just the way our profession is right now. Some have moved on to a better way of removing hair and some have not.

So those are my ideas and as far as waxing making the hairs sturdier and hardier in this area, the answer is… maybe. The laser could have already stimulated more hair to grow by this time???

Hi Mike,

Waxing is the second most popular method of hair removal (shaving is first). The reason electrolysis is not more popular is because electrolysis does not provide immediate hair free gratification for large body areas.

When clients are not sure about what method of hair removal to do, I ask them about their short term and long term hair goals. It might very well be impractical for someone to do electrolysis exclusively when they are in the public eye.

Many people begin waxing because they want their bodies to be hair free quickly. We see athletes and sun worshipers and dancers and others who want a particular look.

Those who are able to make the shift to electrolysis understand that the treatment is time consuming but well worth it because they will ultimately be hair free. You can get waxed and when the first crop of hair begins to surface, consider electrolysis for one area while waxing other areas. As time goes on, you will need less waxing as the electrologist moves across your body, clearing larger areas.

Why didn’t laser work for you? Any idea? What explanation did the laser techs give you?
