Question about the performance of my electrolygist

This relates to which post above???

Fortunately I have not had my face damaged but I believe not being able to find a good electrologist in my area with superb lighting and mag equipment is just as much of an obstacle as avoiding someone who may cause skin damage. The point is that the small follicles of my fine blonde hairs can not be properly seen with a flourescent circular mag lamp and even some of my thicker LONG blonde hairs get passed over by practioners with this type of equipment. These are not just normal peach fuzz blondies- they stick out, trust me, but at certain angles in certain light it can be hard to see some of them.

If I could live my entire life under the light of my downstairs bathroom and take away the sun I wouldn’t need to worry about any of this. Instead how about more electrologists getting with the program? It seems so silly to me that one would be so AGAINST making their business better and being able to serve more clients. Explain the math of that one to me…

I don’t fear what new… the problem is that you can’t change rf or dc current, you can increase it decrease is smooth(rf) with filtering but the computerized part is just timing or how many times you turn it on or off.

I don’t need to buy a new epilator to see the advantages or disadvantages of a newer unit. I was trained in electronics then electrolysis but did very little electrolysis. I was always in the manufacturing/sales of the equipment and supplies.

If you noticed I put a “?” after instantron because i wasn’t sure if they were the manufacturer. Instantron did have a unit with a name something like that, I appologize for not remembering exactly.

As for getting CEU’s in electrolysis… I am not in the industry anymore.

As for micro and pico it wasn’t me that originally used the word “trademark”. I was just explaining what micro and pico actually mean.

Any person that uses glasses from glasses from Sam’s shouldn’t be in business.

I think your arguing with an ally and not an enemy…

This is going to sound silly… but I have seen people use a mascara brush on the fine hairs before treatment so they stick out more

Gimmicks like messy mascara would not be necessary if electrologists invested in surgical magnification and a better light source. Now we are back to that novel concept, ah but alas, that costs money.

Dee, I think you asked me what type of machine (not sure if it was you). I know she uses the blend method and some for of lighted magnification. The machine is a Clareblend.

Here is a small picture of it (only a portion, sorry I couldn’t get a better picture from the site)

ClareBlend makes solid equipment that has certainly been the tools of the trade now and for many years before this time to remove hair permanently. It’s not newer technology, but it will certainly work whether the practitioner does blend or thermolysis with expertise. They have newer versions that are computerized now, but I have never had the opportunity to operate the newer epilators. ClareBlend is still a great company.

Thanks,

Dee

Thank you for the quick response Dee. I just question the amount she charges (and she just recently raised prices for new clients) for the type of equipment she is using. Especially after reading James and your posts regarding newer epilators. Its not like she is the only game in town either. There are at least 5-10 electrologists in the yellow pages. I am not saying she does a poor job or anything. I am saying that I should have done more consultations. Unfortunately I didn’t know there would be much of a difference between practitioners when I started going to her.

Oh, yes, there are vast differences. A poorly trained electrologist can still make a mess of your face with the best computerized epilator, but put the best equipment in the hands of an electrologist that makes perfect insertions and
B-I-N-G-O!!! large amounts of hair can be removed steadily with very little skin reaction. It’s simply amazing and the depressed client turns into a hopeful client with renewed self-esteem.

Keep looking and get short sample treatments so you can judge the healing of your skin. Very important step to take so you can evaluate someone’s worth.

I have an Apilus Platinum and I hear all the time that my hourly price is much lower than the electrologist close or far away that charges much more than me, using equipment that is 20 years older than mine. I resist changing my price schedule to reflect my investment, but I will leave it at that and not get into the reasons why I choose to do this.

Cuz ur awesome Dee. Thats why!

Some would say that Dee and I have SUCKER tattooed across our foreheads. There, I said it!
