Question about the follicles

I’ll try to ask it as best as I can with my regular english

Actually, it’s an easy question: Everytime the electrologist is killing one hair, that hair will regrow from the SAME follicle, right?
I mean, I’ve read the hairs can regrow into different directions, but they are always borning from the same follicles they were killed from, right?

Why am I asking this?

Because if I look myself carefully in the mirror, I can see some diminute scars, but there is no hair on them. Maybe I have it since I had acne, or who knows.
So I mean: Is there a posibility that those scars were made by the electrologist (They are like diminute pores that are already cicatriced) or it’s just from anything else? Because as I said, there is no hair on them, and my question is if some electrologist treated that small scars, that means it should still be hair on it, right? (I only made 3 sesions as soon)

Not sure If I’m explaining it well. It’s a little hard for me to make the question with my english level T.T

If an electrologist has successfully treated a follicle, then that follicle DOES NOT grow another hair.
it is possible that if a hair was not sufficiently treated to destroy it that it can regrow another hair, but such undertreatment probably wouldnt scar.
Usually new hairs are hairs that are from nearby follicles that were out of growth cycle and not able to be removed previously.

Yes but that’s not what I’m asking.

What I say Is that I have a micro scar in my cheek, and NO hair on it since 4 months ago, It probably means that the electrologyst wasn’t responsable of that scar because he didn’t work on that follicle if there is no hair, isn’t it?

Unless they can kill one hair in 1-2 sesions.
For what I’ve heard it takes many sesions to kill one hair, u aren’t gonna kill it the first time you treat it. (correct me if I’m wrong)

That’s wrong. There, I corrected it

Can u explain it then?

If done properly, the hair is killed the FIRST time it is treated.

Seana

What?

Then why after 3 sesions I still have almost the same ammount of hair? They didn’t kill it properly?

That’s always a possibility, yes. It’s also possible that because your electrologist can only kill the hairs present, after she kills those, new ones are growing in. It’s very rare to have an electrologist be able to kill off everything in 3 sessions (as much as that theory is shown on this forum, most electrologists don’t follow it). I would suggest you take a look at this thread:

I think most of the answers to your questions can be found there

I dont understand anything.

Then why every electrologyst is telling me that it may takes 1-2 years to remove the hair? It means like 10 meetings and for what you are saying It should be done in 2-3 sesions.

I have always the same amount of hair, 40 hair in the right cheek and 20 in the left one. I made my las treatment 4 months ago and I have the, same amount, no one more, and Im sure no one hair is gonna appear now.

And then why one of my electrologyst said that Im gonna see almost no diference in the first 2-3 treatments? For what yoy are saying all them should be gone…

That funny clicking sound my “fellow electrologists on Hairtel” are hearing is me strapping myself into the “electric chair.”

¿?

I get it. Completely. That thudding is my head hitting the table.

Reread these 2 sentences

Ok still dont get why im suposed to need like 10 meetings but thanks.

What you are asking should be accomplished in a “sit down” discussion with a full understanding of the biology of hair growth.

Are you asking your electrologist to explain this? Are you hearing what she’s saying?

Sometimes “I don’t LIKE what you’re saying” comes out “I don’t UNDERSTAND what you’re saying.”

Ok let me put it on the line.
It takes ONE treatment to kill a hair if done properly
Its possible the small scar you have is from electrolysis.
Not all hair is visible at all times. It seems like you clear an area and there is more than can be accounted for in "out of growth phase " hairs that appear, but really that’s all it is. Eventually the number of hair SLOWLY starts to decrease, but this can take many hours to accomplish.
Usually if you re doing full clearances on a regular basis, you start to notice the decrease in quantity of hair to be removed approximately 4 months into treatment. If you are doing less than full clearances it may take longer.

Not sure if I missed anything, but there is really no need to panic. You are making progress, you just might not notice it right away, but eventually you will.

Does this make sense? Honestly I feel often there’s WAY too much hair to be just hairs that are out of cycle, but honestly that is what it is.Be patient, keep up the treatments and you WILL notice the difference and drop in quantity of hair.

It may take 1-2 years for every hair in an area to go through their growth cycle. Not all hair is visible at any one time in any area. When done properly, electrolysis kills each hair the FIRST time it is treated. This idea that you have to keep retreating the same hairs over and over is flat-out wrong. However, for every hair you see there may be several that are dormant and not visible. So, you can totally clear an area only to have new hairs (not the SAME hairs) emerge sometime later.

Having said that, I would be concerned if I had 2-3 clearings and saw no reduction. I’ve had many, many areas treated and after 2 clearings I never had as much hair as I did before. After 3 treatments the hair was much reduced and took but little time to remove. Why have you waited for 4 months since your last treatment? If you ever want to be finished, it makes sense to go in for full clearings as often as possible.

Well, it has been 4 months since the last treatment because I started to having doubts about going ahead with electrolysis or change to laser.

I usually wait no more than 3 months. The reason is that no one hair appears the first 2 months so there is nothing to treat. After those 2 months the hair starts appearing so thats why I wait about 3 months between treatments.

Ill try to get an appointmen with Josefa in Malaga for the next electrolysis sesion. Now I just have to find his center number.
