Question about number of treatments/frequency

Hey, I just had a quick question I was hoping I could get an answer to.

I know it’s recommended to get your treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart but I was just curious if permanent results were dependent on following this treatment plan or if you would get similar results if you were to space your treatments out over the course of several years.

Example: Person A gets 6 laser treatments within 1 year, while Person B gets 6 laser treatments over the course of 3 years. Will their results be similar or identical?

In other words, is it the amount of treatments that matters in the long run or the frequency at which you get those treatments?

Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully respond!

Laser works best on darker and thicker hair. I have found in my laser practice that waiting longer between treatments does not adversely affect the treatments. In fact I believe it is better to wait longer than the 8 weeks between treatments.

It’s actually recommended to wait 8-12 weeks depending on body area. 6 weeks is too early for pretty much every area except some facial hair because hair doesn’t grow as fast elsewhere. (see FAQs)

We don’t recommend to stick to a specific schedule. We recommend to wait until enough hair is back after shedding for go in again for treatment. Typically, this doesn’t happen until at least 8 weeks post treatment, but usually closer to 12 weeks after a couple treatments.

If you go in too often, you’ll need more treatments overall because you’ll be treating before all the hair is present to treat each time. If you go too rarely, you’ll need more treatments overall because you will miss hair growth cycles.
