Recap: I’m having my full body done. It is already paid for in full and I am doing my arms and legs in one sitting, my face/neck in another sitting and the rest of me (Brazilian, back, axilla, breasts, abdomen, etc) in another sitting. So far all has gone well except for burns on my arms and legs during my treatment at the end of September.
I just wanted to mention…I’m very pleased with the results so far. I am having my 3rd treatment on most of my body parts in 6 days and the “new” hairs are fully grown in right now. I can tell that it’s significantly reduced after only 2 treatments. The most obvious results are the Brazilian and underarms. After just 2 treatments, there is so much less hair and also what remains is SO much finer than what it was before. I’d say in those 2 areas, I have (already) about 65% reduction.
I have been slightly skeptical about whether or not it would work on me. Also, I paid in full for my whole body and then started to question myself as to whether or not it was a good investment/idea, etc and initially regretted spending the money. However, now that I’m already seeing amazing results, I feel extreme relief and satisfaction.
I can’t wait to see how those areas (and the rest of me!) look in 8 more weeks!
I went last night for my treatments on back (2nd treatment), underarms (3rd), breasts (2nd) and brazilian (3rd). I was very happy with the way it went and I’m not burned this time like the way I was burned on my arms and legs before. It was painful and there was redness for a few hours after which is normal, of course.
The nurse doing my treatments gave me ice pack to put on my vagnial area before doing the labia and it made the treatment MUCH less painful down there then the last 2 times. Wow. Huge difference. I will request the ice pack each time I go.
I’m looking forward to the shedding in the next few weeks! Yay!
Also, the settings for my back are 50/30. Which are the joules and which is the spot size? On my Brazilian, she reduced to 15 and the upper part 18 (I think). Do the settings sound right? I was trying to remember all the different numbers she was telling me, but I’m doing so many different areas in one sitting…
not sure what 50/30 is, but sounds like 15mm spot size 30 joules maybe?
15 and 18 are spot sizes (the diameter of the laser head). 18mm is the largest. with each spot size, there should be a joules (power) number. for 15mm spot size, the highest is 30 joules. for 18mm, highest is 20 joules.
I went for my legs/arms treatment a few weeks ago, when I got there I inquired about the little white circles that I have on my shins, around my knees and on both arms and elbows. When I got burned during treatment, the scabs came off and white circles have been left behind.
The technician said that they go away but it takes months and that it would be best to not treat over them because it would make them last longer. Soooo…I have to wait on the treatments.
Tonight I go in for my face and on the 13th I go in for the rest of my body…I am going to have the tech take a look at my arms and legs when I get to that appointment to see if I’ve made any progress. I don’t want to look like this forever. I’m getting sick of long sleeves and pants. Haha. Also, I don’t want to drag the treatments out for too much longer.
I was curious about how long you’ve gone between treatments. You indicated you had quite a noticeable reduction. I don’t want to burst the bubble, if you haven’t waited for 4-5 months after a treatment, it would be difficult to tell how much reduction you actually have. I am NOT recommending to wait that long while undergoing treatments. Because of the hair growth cycles, 8-12 weeks is not going to be enough time to tell how much hair remains.
I am pleased you are responding well and are happy with your treatments. You will see your hair becoming finer (less coarse) as time goes on.
Laser is great way to get a reduction. However, there will come a time when it will be more cost effective to go with electrolysis because the hairs will be scattered further apart and finer.
Well…I started my treatments mid-july and I’ve gone about 10 weeks between each treatment. Since I’m doing my whole body, some sections have been done more frequently than others.
I have not seen the regrowth for 4-5 months, obviously, since I am undergoing treatments currently. But I can tell that “something” is happening…which I consider to be good.
I’ve been hiding my body for most of my life because it’s too time consuming to shave every inch of my body every other day. But, I look forward to going out in a bathing suit without having to spend 2 hours removing hair the day before. Also, as a female, I’ve been shaving my face (daily) for years because there’s way too much hair…and the past 4 months, I haven’t had to shave at all! (Except for right before my treatments). It’s such a huge relief. I’m willing to go to electrolysis after the 8 treatments are completed, of course…
Some people do laser hair removal because they don’t feel like dealing with hair on a certain area of the body (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and for me, I just saw it as a necessity because I have to deal with hair everywhere. I’m Italian…my father was EXTREMELY hairy and my hair is so dark that it’s been embarrassing. The waxing (eyebrows, lip, cheeks, Brazilian, upper legs) was costing a fortune every month…and so much pain! Yikes! And then the shaving and using depilatories in the areas that I couldn’t see/reach to shave was out of control.
thanks for keeping up updated. sounds like you got some pigmentation from minor burns before. they should go away, but yes, it can take several months.
in terms of your situation, i’m wondering if you had your hormones checked for things like PCOS etc. with that much hair, especially on the face, there may be a hormonal issue you need to address while you’re doing hair removal. keep in mind that laser can kill what’s currently there, but if you have a condition that’s causing NEW hair to develop consistently, you’ll still need regular touchups for those after you are done. plus, it’s a good idea to make sure everything is good with your general health anyway. seeing a good endocrinologist in your area should be a good start.
