Prof. Opinion

Not use need someones opinion.

So, I have recently completed my 6 treatments for full legs, underarms, and brazillian at Sleek. Originally thought the package was for 8 but can not find my paperwork. I know it was 8 but that was 1 1/2 yr ago and told you could buy extra sessions at reduce cost not now though…When I first started they were using a machine that felt like elastics I took summer off until tan faded. When I returned they had a new system. So I had 2 treatments with that.

As the regrowth before my 6th treatment was decent figured I would be great after 8. Now knowing this is my last they are trying to sell a “lifetime guarantee package” 50% less than I orignially paid. You have to go every 8 weeks, between certain hours to keep the warranty.

I know it is difficult to answer but what is normally recommended. Type II/III skin dair hair. Feel I have been shafted at this point. Would I be better to get a home systems (Tria/Silk’n)to maintain. Should i buy into the guarantee tat is alot of restrictions to keep going every 8 for life?

Thanks in advance.

They would like you to think of this as something you will be doing every 8 weeks for life, but there is a law of diminishing returns on LASER treatments. After a certain point, there is nothing more that it can offer you that you would want to pay for. Not true with electrolysis. Electrolysis clients have the luxury of becoming so obsessive that they can start hounding their practitioners to chase after hairs no one can see but a person who is either looking at them through a stereo microscope, or is so close to them as to be able to rub their nose on the very hairs in question.

I don’t know what areas you are looking to have treated, but in my opinion, you would be best off if you now “Switched to Electrolysis to Finish the Job” as many of the LASER people say in their talks about the end game of hair removal.

Buying a Trea or Silk’n would not help you as you will have already had up to 4 less treatments than most would recommend on any area when your current package runs out. To put it in simple terms, the home use machine would not be expected to give you any increase over what you already have. It could only hope to stunn your hair growth on schedule if it did anything at all.

In my opinion, for you, now more than ever, your best use of your time and money would be electrolysis.

We need more information.

  • How long has it been since your last treatments?
  • What % removal have you achieved on each area?
  • Can you call and ask for the names of both machines? It would also be good to know the joules, spot size, and pulse width settings they used. These two factors would determine if it is worth paying anything at all or if you would definitely be wasting your money.
  • How much reduction are you seeking on these areas? 80-95% is possible with very GOOD treatments if the hair is coarse and dark, but for the other 5-10%, you’ll need electrolysis if you want every single hair removed overall.

Currently they are using almus suprano xl hair removal system. It felt like it was “burning” during treatments(2 treatments). The inital machine I am not sure on but was like an elastic snapping agains the skin(4 treatments with that). Other than that IDK.

I have had good results… I am sure numbers will increase after this last treatment a couple days ago. Full legs about 80%, armpit 85% , bikini was 80%.

In my head when initially purchased package I thought 8 treatments would be perfect. To get the reduced rate for the guarantee I need to decide within the month. At first I figured I would just get a couple more treatments and pay. They said the package would be better because it would basically be cheaper than paying for 2 treatments.

Just the reduced rate for the areas would be just under $3000. But like I said you HAVE to go every 8 weeks and between 11 am and 4pm for appts.

Really liked the tech but am uncomfortable with the “fees”. Your opinion is very helpful.
Thank-you

That seems expensive to me considering you have little hair left. Plus, you won’t be able to get to 100%, so you’re really only paying to remove about 5-10% of hair that remains at most. Are you doing full legs or just lower legs? You can get underarm treatments for $50-100 per treatment easily nowdays. Bikini is in the $100-200 per treatment range. And that’s for full area of hair, not just a bit like you have left. So for 2 more treatments somewhere else, you’ll likely pay $300-500 for both of these areas. I would find another clinic and compare prices. Try to find someone with GentleLASE alex laser if you’re gonna do that.

Soprano is a diode laser.

Thank-you sooo much that seems more like what I had in mind. You have been a big help.

PS…Yes it was full legs

Full legs cost around $500 on average. For just touchups, which is what you have now, you’ll likely pay less. And even if you don’t, that’s $500x2 plus the other $400 or so for the other areas. So that’s less than $1500 give or take. $3K is a lot. If you really like this tech, get other quotes and try to negotiate.
