Pre-marathon pics

I’m booked in for a marathon electrolysis session soon and have been growing the hair out on my bikini line and lower legs for months in preparation.

I just wondered if anyone has any thoughts about how long this might take for a clearance? I’ve read here that a lady’s lower leg can take around 6-8 hours to clear but I do think mine might be a little more furry than the average leg. Do you think I’ll be able to achieve anywhere near this figure? So 16 hours for the 2 legs (in the hands of a very experienced practitioner I should add)?

I’ve had the bikini area cleared once before and think I’m probably looking at another day or two for both sides?

Might be tricky to see as some of my hair looks quite fair but if you click on the images you should be able to see a (gruesome) close up

update: Think I’ve got it to play ball now?

The leg hair density looks ‘normal’. It entirely depends on how fast your electrologist works. Ask him/her to clear the first 1"x1" area and time how long it takes… then it’s just a matter of multiplying that by the area of your legs.

Thanks stoppit. I know its hard to estimate these things without knowing electrologist speed, hair count etc.

Think I’m just looking for reassurance that I’m going to be able to get a clearance in the time I’m there, having grown the hair out for so long (six months) and with the electrologist being so far away its not like I can just pop back to get it finished off, until my next clearance that is.

Glad you think my leg hair looks ok, everyone else I’ve shown it to has been shocked a woman’s legs can be this hairy, including me  Hopefully it shouldn’t take much longer than average to clear. The electrologist I go to is very skilled and speedy.

I’ll post some more pics after my treatment. Might be useful for others to see some wait and clear pics from the clients perspective as it’s mostly pro postings I’ve seen on here.

Professionals put the photos so that people like you get the most out of your treatment.

If you allow me some advice. Do not push your electrologist too much, because I know from experience that working under pressure is counterproductive.

There have been many occasions over the last ten years where I have asked clients to post THEIR OWN before, middle and after photo’s here, along with their hair journey story in their OWN WORDS, to pay it forward to help others, but it never quite happens. They are perfectly fine if I do it for them, but I never feel like it has as much impact. If they would tell their story from the consumer side of things, I would be so very giddy because after all, this site exists for the consumer, not the practitioner.

Young women can have really hairy legs, but the older they get, the less hair they can have on their legs. Same with men because circulation decreases in the lower extremities as we age and we all know that hair, in general, needs good blood flow to nourish it along. Blood is fertilizer for hair.

Cheshirecat could you please PM me with where you are going for your electro as I am still looking for a good electrologist.

Manchester is not far from me at all and I would really appreciate it.

Hi Cheshire, would you mind sharing where you are receiving your marathon treatment? Thanks!

PS, I’ve sent you a PM, please reply when you get the chance!

Cheshirecat, let me congratulate you for your patience and sacrifice to wait without touching the area, so your electrologist can work on the largest possible number of total hairs in each area. This is essential to see a radical change in areas which can be treated in this marathon session.

The bottom of the bikini line need twice as long than the top because there is higher density and the area is difficult to access. If your electrologist agrees, you can collaborate to tighten the area. This has two advantages, 1) will be less painful, and 2) she or he can work faster. As for the legs, indeed, the hairs are not very thick, but the density is quite high, so you may need a little more time than the average of cases in female legs.

PMs sent to those who asked…

Thanks Dee, this was just my thinking. I wasn’t meaning to suggest in any way that pro postings aren’t useful, quite the opposite. Since it’s exactly these types of posting which encouraged me to try and resolve my problem using the wait and clear method, I just hoped my pictures could be another reference for people researching electrolysis treatment on here.

Also, I had my facial/neck/chest hair removed with electrolysis and now really regret not taking before pictures because it’s done such an amazing job it’s almost like it never happened!

Josefa, thanks for your words of encouragement and tips for the bikini area. I didn’t think about the practicalities of growing hair out for a marathon session when I decided to do it and it’s surprisingly hard to leave that hair alone when you’re used to shaving every few days but I wanted to have every hair possible ready and available for a good zapping. It’s been a hot summer hiding these beastly legs under tights and trousers for the last few months but I’ve saved a ton on razors so every cloud…

Once you see the results electrolysis can give its very addictive. Getting my facial hair sorted has made such a dramatic improvement in my life in so many ways. Even if I just get a reduction in hair to a ‘normal’ growth rate in these other areas I know I will feel much less self-conscious. For me it’s not just the embarrassment of having excessive hair, but the stubble, spots and rashes I got from hair removal that looked even worse than the hair itself! That’s why I’ve invested in getting rid of it for good. Some might call it vain but for me it’s about being free from the constant regime of hiding my hairiness.

I can’t thank this forum and its members enough for putting me on the right track to freedom
