Post treatment, dos and dont's

Hi everyone,

My name is Rob and this is my first post on the forum. I have had my first laser treatment on my back, shoulders and upper arms 11 days ago. (I intend to make a treatment post with background and detail when I have a little more time)
The hair that was treated is getting longer and is now clearly visible. I am wondering if it is ok to shave it? The only post treatment do I have found is scrubbing in Andrea’s FAQ post (and I do). I have gently pulled on a couple of hairs and they let go without resistance. Is pulling on the hairs a big no no? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Shaving it is fine, if you can not though sometimes it’s better because it falls out easier when longer but shaving is perfectly acceptable. Only time you have to watch usually is with your face, the first few days after, but go ahead there’s no worry at all.

Shave if you want. No big thing. Could make shedding a bit slower for some people under certain conditions, but it doesn’t affect your results in any way.

And you can gently pull hairs, that’s okay too. That’s what shedding means (the hairs slide out without resistance or fall out). If you feel ANY resistance, then don’t pull though. That would be plucking which is really bad and can obscure your results. You’d have no way to know what hair was properly treated and what wasn’t.

Make sure you’re only treating COARSE DENSE growth. Otherwise, you may experience induced growth. These areas are particularly vulnerable on men. Most men’s upper arm hair is not coarse enough for laser.

Please find out machine type and settings, and let us know what % shedding you’ve had at 3 weeks.

Thanks for the replies. I have now made my detailed treatment post:
