Positive results (with pictures)

Just posting my positive electrolysis experience with the amazing C O’connell of Sydney.

I tried unsuccessfully with laser and electrolysis with a poor practitioner a few years ago - before finding Christine through this site.

Treatment started 8 months ago and though not yet finished, a lot of progress has been made so far (photos below). Christine targets the darkest hairs so that after each session there is no sharp lines or patchiness – looks natural.

Here is the stats: (I may be out by an hour or so as I didn’t write down the hours of the first few sessions)

30 yo male. Areas are shoulders and back.

February 2013 – Consult and 3 hours treatment.
April 2013 – About 13 hours (over two days)
August 2013 – 7 hours
October 2013 – 7 hours

Total so far = Approx 30 hours

Will update as progress.

Before first treatment:

After most recent treatment: (still some redness etc as it was just a few days ago)

(Lighting’s not so good on this one - will take it again soon.)

Shanu, thank you for taking your time to show everyone your progress.
You are very lucky to have to Christine and I’m am thinking about her strategy for removing your back hair. I’m thinking I will offer my future back hair clients the choice to gradually select the stiffer, darker hairs first, as I usually clear everything in an area, and I mean EVERY HAIR, and then maintain that area as we move to another area. The disadvantage of doing that is if the client needs to stop treatments, then he has a noticeably bare area contrasting with hairy areas.

You are on your way, Shanu! Nice work, Christine!

So, one question that I ask mainly on behalf of participants and lurkers - did it hurt very much?

I find, that my male clients especially, prefer a natural look whilst undergoing treatment. It works best for the Australian lifestyle. So I usually work with an “immediate best appearance” approach, or I could describe it as “beach ready”!!

Makes sense to me, Christine!

I like that strategy also. Some of my clients like to not wear shirts and when you are doing a total clear it can be awkward for them.

???

Do you mean during treatment? If so…I prefer towels over paper products. (Even the most conservative male client has laughed - when they see me they begin taking off their clothes! Oops! We met at the grocery store!)

That’s funny Barbara, I prefer towels over paper too. I did mean they like to be topless outside and if you do not get to spend marathon sessions with them it can look like some sort of bizarre skin disease with all the patchy hair. I love the clients who have no modesty what so ever, cloths off the minute they walk through the door. Even before I get the blinds closed, clothes off.

@ dfahey. No it doesn’t hurt much, just the last hour or so of a 7 hr session gets a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad.

Yes, that is how it goes for me and my male clients, as well. I had a snorer a couple nights ago. He always does well with his long sessions. Never complains. Just naps and yawns. He is at the end of his journey though after 13 months, so I’m getting a little teary eyed. Great client.
