Pores after LHR

After a number of treatments on my hand, I am quite happy about the lack of hair there. Here is a picture of it:

Interestingly, there looks to be a bunch of dots on my hands. I’m not sure if that’s very fine hair that is there, or hair deep in the pore, or if the hair is just entirely gone and that’s the empty space that remains. I’m wondering if there is a way to kind of smooth out the skin so that the pores aren’t as visible? I don’t know if electrolysis on the remaining hairs would make the pores “invisible.” I know after a shower or if I sweat a lot, it looks like the dark holes are more visible. It would be nice to not have as much of a “shaved” look and more of naturally smooth look, which I think would happen if these pores weren’t as visible.

How much time has elapsed since you last treatment? What type of laser was used?

This one has been about 3 weeks (I know hair is stll shedding/just finishing shedding at this point), but it looks similar to what it does now after it grows back (when I waited several months inbetween treatments – i.e. not much hair, still large pores).

Alexandrite was used (my hands were done with Apogee Elite – I did GentleLase in other areas and still have pores :(, like on my legs.)

Hey Brenton thanks for sharing your story. I also had my hands done with laser with lightsheer diode 5x but it didn’t work well(only 15-20% reduction)
So I was wondering how many treatments you’ve had and how much hair is gone now?

For your question about pores, they are just open because of all the years hairs were growing so they’re not used to the hair being gone yet. They will “close” a bit as time goes on and the hair doesn’t grow back.

Hi Johnson,

I’m glad to hear about the pores. I would like to see them close because it feels kind of embarrassing to see these little holes.

For total treatments, I had about 10 (actually I did one treatment like 2 weeks after doing one there with another laser, so the latter treatment didn’t do anything.) In reality, only about 6 or so (I can’t remember the exact number) of those were at “effective” settings, so probably only about 6 of them contributed to a decrease in hair. I’m going off memory from the amount of hair I used to have on my hands, but when I let the hair after laser grow out, I would say I probably have about an 80-90% reduction. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a decent picture of how my hand was. This is about the best I can find (sorry for the low quality):

I think you can still see a difference

I think your pores might close a bit in time. I had larger pores on my legs before laser. Now since my hair is finer, my pores seem smaller.
