I’ve been getting my eyebrows treated with electrolysis, and while I love the shape of my eyebrows, I’m not satisfied with the electrolysis. When I got them done last week, I could really feel the insertions, and I had a fair amount of scabbing. When I went it tonight, I couldn’t feel the insertions and I felt no “energy” (usually it’s quite painful) but I felt some plucking with almost every hair.
I’m thinking of trying a new electrologist, one who uses a microscope, but am wondering if they’ll be able to shape my eyebrows as well as my current electrologist, whose specialty is eyebrow shaping. I’ve never been very good at shaping my eyebrows and my electrologist is the only professional who’s ever shaped them, so I don’t really know if it’s difficult to do properly. Any advice?
And if I feel plucking, does that mean the electrolysis has had no effect at all, or just less effect than ideal? I’ve never felt as much plucking as tonight, but it seems that usually the thickest hairs are plucked. I should also mention that she does my breasts and belly with no sensation of plucking, although I do feel insertions sometimes.
Have you discussed this with your electrologist? Feeling the insertions last week and not feeling the insertions this week leads me to believe that someone’s mind isn’t focused on your treatment. We all have personal distractions in our lives. But as with any profession, you have to leave that life at the door and focus on what you are paid to do. Mentioning what you’re experiencing with the treatments may the nudge she needs to help her focus, if this is a case of distraction vs. lack of skill.
Not feeling the energy and feeling the hairs tweezed sounds like an equipment problem. BUT the electrologist should be able to tell when she is tweezing a hair. Distracted or poor technique?
If you go to a new electrologist while your regrowth is still sparse, they will be able to keep the shape your new electrologist has given you.
At this point, your eyebrows are already shaped. You’re just going in to keep up the shape, i.e. remove the hair outside the eyebrow line that she created. If you’re going in on time, as soon as new hairs appear, any electrologist shouldn’t have a problem seeing hairs that should be removed to keep the shape as they are new, thin, etc.
