PLEASE tell me everything will be ok

My sister went to my electrologist for the first time to get electrolysis on her upper lip. I dont know why, but the treatment was 45 minutes (which I know is way too long, especially for a first treatment). Two hours after the treatment she began to see yellow liquid above her lip and it continued to get out of the sores for the rest of the day and the night. She sent a photo to the electrologist and she said she had never seen something like that in her 17 years of working.
This morning when she woke up her lip was very swollen. We went to the doctor and got antibiotics.
The scariest thing for me is that she has these hollow scars which look like they are electrolysis scars.
Please just tell me that things will get better and she wont have permanent ugly scars for the rest of her life

This is a photo one day after the treatment.

the same day of the treatment:

This situation made me sick! This is a horrible outcome and the electrologist should be taken to task. 45-minutes on a young upper lip? This person should not have a license. She broke every rule of practice. She literally blasted-out chunks of skin (not yet scars, just destroyed skin). In what State are you located? If you are in a licensed State, I would contact the governing body ASAP … with your photos. In my opinion your sister will, at lease, have a diminished result and possibly pitted scars. DAMN THAT ELECTROLOGIST!

No way in hell a beautiful young woman should have had this result. Start photo-documenting everything. This is no laughing matter and could potentially have a terrible effect on her life. The upper lip is the number one important area … and the electrologist just “went for it” with no care at all.

Saying that she “has never seen this” is her feeble attempt to blame the client. NO WAY! Post treatment disasters like this are NEVER the client’s fault. Do not let her give you a sack of BS! It’s all the electrologists’ fault … 100%. Start praying (I am already). Continue with the dermatologist. Consult with an attorney because you already have a case. Take lots of photos.

This is a horrific and abnormal situation. It looks like the epidermis has been blasted away/vaporized. Whether or not your sister will have permanent scarring will depend on the depth of the damage and how well the skin heals. Only time will tell. I concur with Mike’s assessment that this is a legal case and an attorney should be contacted ASAP to move things forward.

Over treatment caused by too much treatment energy, poor insertions and NOT READING THE SKIN as one works, most likely related to poor vision equipment. I frequently work on upper lip cases for 30 minutes to an hour, constantly observing the skin and THIS is not the outcome! Everything must click in proper order and with professional skill to do this without this horrible reaction, otherwise, don’t go over 15 minutes. It goes to show you that just because someone says they have 17 years experience doesn’t mean they are skilled. Chunks of skin have been taken out! You must let this heal completely. Totally unacceptable and this practitioner needs to stay within a 15 minute window if she hasn’t honed her skills to work longer on the upper lip.

Ok I have to decloak for this.
This is completely unacceptable overtreatment. Regardless of whether it heals without permanent damage ( and I have my doubts) this is in no way okay.
