How does electrolysis work if I got laser before hand? I got It on my back and shoulders. They were very light hairs. I did 7 sessions and all I got was longer darker hair. Throughout the laser process only patches were growing back and I thought it was working and a few months after I stopped it all grew back. Will this benefit me if I do electrolysis or did I make my situation worse?
We have much debate here on this forum ,about how long it takes for all of the hairs to return after LHR. We know that it takes at least 6 months before the client realizes that the LHR was not successful. Permanently removing the hair is not a problem for us, but predicting how long the process will take from the outset to completion is,at this time an unknown factor. It seems to vary from client to client, whereas treating someone who has never had LHR is very predictable. When did you have your last LHR treatment?
I had my last treatment in January of 2011. It seems like there’s less hairs then before but maybe I’m wrong. My lower back had long hairs which after laser I can tell I had a reduction but my shoulders and everywhere else had very fine hairs and there alot longer now

Well that is a reasonable length of time. Now you need to look for some practitioners in your area and have some consultations with test treatments. Then you can post back here for some guidance,if you need it. Otherwise, you could post some images. If you give your location you could get referrals from other forum users.

Where in Southern California are you?
San Diego but I’m willing to drive around I’m sure there’s probably alot of good places in Hollywood and L.A. I’ve tried googling but I just get names of places. Don’t know where to find reviews and people’s experiences there especially for males. A majority of them are females
Oh hell yes! We got this. Ok, I’ll be honest and let you know that I basically commute between San Diego and LA each weekend for electrolysis. I’ve been using a woman named Sabrena Smith. She’s WONDERFUL! I’ve been seeing her since September 1, and now we’re nearly done with my beard. She’s very experienced with men, and she will work on any and all areas. Being able to fit into her schedule can be difficult though (the next Saturday opening isn’t for months). Seriously, her skill is amazing. She does smoke though which sucks, and sometimes I do feel like I get cheated out of time a bit, but she is a fantastic electrologist.
The other person I can recommended who’s in Santa Ana (so some considerable less driving) is Johanne Fortier. I find her treatments more comfortable than Sabrena’s, and she’s also an electrolysis teacher. Sabrena is faster, but Johanne I love as well. Johanne’s skill is also top notch.
If you would want to stay local, I really liked a place called Swanky Sugar in Ocean Beach. The electrologist there (Laura) was actually one of Johanne’s former students, and she does very nice work. The main reason I didn’t stay with her was because she would only work 1-2 hours at a time max, and my pain tolerance is low, so I wanted to visit someone I could do 3-4 hours with and take a Vicodin to help.
Those are my 3 recommendations for you.
