Please help me find the right Needle Holder

I need to find the right needle holder and needles for the vector system.

Can I use the Daisy standard without uniprobe? What is a uniprbe? and what size?? Regualr, petite or mini?

I have been going to a electrolysis for years and would like to do it myself now. I have minimal hairs now on my face, but still have hairs on my breasts and belly. I’m getting married in 2 more months so I want those ugly hairs gone!!

I have NO IDEA how to answer your first question. I’m never at a loss for words of advice, but that one stumps me. Maybe dear James will come to the rescue.

The hairs on your breasts and abdomen will not be gone in 2 months and you may leave marks by doing it yourself that will take months to fade away. You could tweeze the heavier hairs and then start this project after you get married or you could give this task to your electrologist. It will go quicker if she has the right approach. Many electrologists can clear abdominal hair and breast hair in one appointment, if the average female walks through the door.

I can’t help but picture Andy Kaufman lip syncing to The Mighty Mouse Theme Song: “Here I Come To Save The Daaaaayyyy!”

Vectors use Bananna, not Mini.

I must also agree with Dee, if you see a pro, she can clear out the breast and belly for your wedding, and you need only keep on schedule to make it a memory in no time.

I’ve been going to the electrolysis for 9 years not religiously, but usually every two weeks, I still have hairs in the wrong places, so I doubt that it will be all gone for the wedding. I understand to use the bananna connection, but one of the options is regular, petite or mini size, which one?

Nine years of electrolysis for any area sounds totally inept,if not corrupt. Too bad for you that you are reduced to the frustration of doing this yourself. If you have truly been going practically every two weeks for NINE YEARS and concentrating on one or two areas with an adept electrologist, your unwanted hair would have been history in one to two years. Sorry for your plight. This is no the way this should be. When electrolysis is abused by inept, clueless practitioners and/or non-compliant consumers, you can’t expect success. This is no reflection on you, just a general statement on how not to succeed.

Okay James, should she use a regualer or petite probe?? I’ll make a wild guess and say “regular” since the hairs on the belly and breast are usually coarse to very coarse. Am I close?

This gets confusing as there is a “mini” connector, and a Mini sized probe holder. The probe holder is a comfort choice. With my big man hands, only a regular sized probe holder will do as anything else is dwarfed in my hands. Most women like the petite or the mini. The question is, how small do you want it to be? If my experience training women is any indication, you will like the petite.

Dee, the machine you have gives you the option of two probe holder sizes, do you use the longer or the shorter? Your long one is the “regular” and your shorter is the “petite” To me, the mini requires me to use my fingers like a tweezer to hold the thing. But I have large hands.

Well, I am just a little, tiny, petite thing, complete with dainty, nimble fingers. I do use the shorter probe holder.

Well I got the Vector system today and it doesn’t really do a damn thing. I was told that I have a high pain tolerance by my electrolysis, I had the thing up to 7 max and I could feel a tingle in the hair folicle, but it didn’t deaded the hair, it’s very coarse and still intact. Should I just return it or buy the needle and probe to plug in?

I haven’t been going for the past 6 months to the electrolysis, but on and off for 9 years. I think I went at least 2 years straight every 2 weeks.

If you really want it to work, you need a needle holder, the tweezers just can’t work. It will probably set you back $20-45 plus shipping (what I see the go for on Texas Electro, add that in to the initial cost of the Vector unit.)

Brutally frank answer: The consensus here is that the Vector is not made to last, and is, well, poorly made junk.

I am looking on eBay right now and for about $100 more than the cost of a new Vector unit you can get a used professional machine (and probably come with a needleholder that works and maybe some extras like fresh needles) that does galvanic, thermolysis and blend. It would probably last you until you are done and can be resold after so you can recoup some of your investment. (In fact, I know of someone who still has such a pro machine for sale, sorry shameless plug  But seriously, if you really want to do this, you might want to go with a pro machine from the start.

And how about that, here is a great DIYer setup for $375, including two texts (one by Michael Bono) some Ballet needles and a working needleholder

Thanks Vickie,

Do you think this ebayer is legit? I am going to return the Vector and eat the 20% restocking fee… Do I need a license still to buy this machine??

If they have overwhelmingly positive feedback and have a return policy they specifically state in the auction, they will probably take it back ok minus that 20%.

You don’t need a license or certification to buy an electrolysis machine on eBay, I have been told if you want to buy a new one retail they might give you a hard time about it. But I bought 2 on eBay no problem.

Ebay makes people put that wording in their ads. It scares people from bidding on things. It has gotten so bad that simple toe stretchers are labled as controled, or prescription items.
