I have just had the first treatment on my upper lip. I am female, Caucasian but slightly olive toned.
The majority of the hair is light but there are quite a few black ones mixed in there.
I had a great experience (except for the pain, even with numbing cream) i think im just a baby lol.
Its been 2 days since the treatment and i have been using just a sorbolene cleanser and a very gentle moisturizer.
But i have just received a supply of MD Formulations products as my skin is breaking out pretty bad. I have used the MD before and absolutely LOVE the products.
I have sensitive skin but none of the MD products aggreviated my skin at all. Even though they contain Glycolic.
My concern is using this while receiving electrolysis. My electrolysist said i should go back every 3 weeks to get it redone.
If i use my gentle sorbolene cleanser on the day of the treatment and possibly the day after, would it be ok to use my MD products (most are for sensitive skin, even though they contain glycolic) for the rest of the time in between treatments?
I really dont want my products to go to waste or to let my skin get any worse but i also dont want to ruin it further by using products too strong while completing my course of electrolysis.
Use only witch hazel on the treated area 3-4X a day and
the purest aloe vera gel you can find for a couple times a day. If, needed, use tea tree oil sparingly at bedtime. Do this for at least three days.
Other products can irritate a newly treated area and the electrologist will get the blame. Can you use your products on areas other than your upper lip while receiving treatment?
The upper lip is one area where it can be tough sensation-wise. The newer computerized epilators offer blend and thermolysis modalities that are just awesome for bringing down that sensation punch. What is your electrologist using?
Thanks Dfahey, for some reason nobody seems to want to answer me lol
I am not sure about the exact machine she is using but i am pretty sure shes using blend. I did look at the machine when i went and it looked like it had blend and thermolysis on it but not sure of the brand.
So if i use the gentle stuff for a few days after the treatment and try to avoid getting the strong stuff (MD Formulations) on the upper lip area when i do start using it a few days after the treatment it should be ok?
Just make sure you are totally healed. If you are not healed within 1-7 days, have a conversation with your electrologist about this so she can make some adjustments. Consult with her about these products. She has the advantage of seeing you whereas I do not. Blend is an awesome modality. You will get results as long as her insertions are mostly accurate. Do report skin reactions. She’ll want to know so she can help you better.
A tiny dab of tea tree oil on white heads will dissolve the pus. Your healing sounds very good! Remember, no touching the area and clean with witch hazel 3-4X a day for three days after a treatment.
