I recently found a new electrologist, and she informed me that I had pitting on my upper lip from my former electrologist.
After a couple of treatments with this new electrologist, she told me that it was getting much better.
However, I am now away at school and have noticed that there is a lot more pitting on my upper lip than there was before.
What type of treatment should I use to get rid of this pitting? Does anyone know of any special creams that would reduce the appearance of this pitting?
I’d first be curious to know how many treatments you had with your first electrologist and more importantly, what was your healing outcome like??? Did it take awhile for the inflammation to go down? Did you have scabs? Were you fully healed before you had another treatment?
Pitted scars can be lasting, however it may take as much as a year for it to totally resolve. Sometimes doctors advise using an AHA cream or Retin- A. At the very most Dermabrasion or a chemical peel will help, but that is a decision a doctor has to make.
Scarring is rare with electrolysis. People mix up terms and temporary skin reactions are confused for scars. An area should not be worked on until it is totally healed.
