Pitting? Scarring?

Many electrolysis consumers get very fearful with normal skin healing scenario’s after treatment. Red dots, small scabs, tiny white pustules, areas that look like pits…etc. are some of their biggest concerns.

The client should be told in that first consult, about TEMPORARY skin manesfestation that may occur after a session. A professional electrologist will not leave permanent scars, but it is expected that the skin will react to a treatment to some degree. The reaction can range from hardly nothing to some redness to all of the skin manifestations I listed above.

One thing we electrologists stress to each other is to take before pictures. This is a BEFORE picture. These new clients have never had electrolysis on their face before. Looking at this woman’s skin, there is damage from sun? Cigarette smoking damage? Acne? Age? Other procedures?

Other pictures of skin that has never been treated with electrolysis.

Before pictures are necessary!

People often don’t notice natural flaws in their skin before they start electrolysis and frequently will panic that electrolysis treatments have caused pitting and scarring.

Once the hair is cleared on this woman’s upper lip, she will notice the flawed skin that the hair was hiding.

The second picture shows lots of pitting BEFORE electrolysis was started. Probably acne scars?
