Hi everyone, I just went for my treatment like I usally do weekly.
However yesterday I got her to work on my nose, yes my nose has little black hairs on it and little blackheads. But she was extracting some blackheads and it left little cut marks and also little white head pimple things.
Is this normal? what does it mean? i accidentally scratched a few.
i put witch hazel on my face though, so hopefully it goes away.
Before I extract, I need to use high pH products to soften the tissue and then steam the area with distilled water. This opens the pores so extractions are not so traumatizing. Then, I apply witch hazel toner which brings the pH back to normal to accelerate the healing and then I apply cool aloe gel. Skin will heal with time - time enough for the top layers of skin cells to be replaced by new cells.
I do not recommend electrolysis and extractions on the same day.
Thanks for the reply!!
So it will heal though right? what are these little white heads though lol theyre so gross!
I would need to see a photo of your “whiteheads”. Whiteheads (milia) is oil (sebum) trapped in a closed pore. Milia is hard, not red or inflamed like often the case with a pimple or pustule (pus pimple).
The whitehead forms when the oil that we produce (sebum) and cellular debris is trapped in our skin and hardens. It blocks the follicle opening.
During electrolysis, while we are working in the follicle, oil glands may be stimulated and you may occasionally see some sebaceous activity that looks like acne. Spot treating with a tiny drop of tea tree oil for a few days is something that often helps accelerate the healing process. Witch hazel and aloe are nice too, to use daily.
Ya theyre not hard like pimples, if i touch them or scratch gently they come out it looks like creamy white stuff (sorry to be gross) but just on my nose area, everywhere else the electrolysis didnt do that…also theres like little cut like scabs on my nose…will these heal? they look aweful!
No one recommended that scrub. Sounds like you’re spamming.
