Pictures post 24hr 15min of electrolysis treatment

Hello,
I have finished about 24hr 15min of electrolysis, I’m Indian, had vellus long hair on my face. Likely to leave to states (Indiana) in the month of August. My electrologist is asking me to continue treatment till I move which I don’t mind but I’m worried about her treating the hair at such a small length(read:no length visible to naked eye) is me just wasting money. And I do get a ton of irritation(read:white pustules). These are my photos fresh out of the shower after 24hr 15 mins of electrolysis. Any input I’d really appreciate cause I’m going in blind.

I must add that I started electrolysis on May 6th 2019 and last appointment was on June 13th 2019. I gave ingrowns in my side burn areas I feel. Only thayers unscented witch hazel has been helping me deal with the pustules and ingrown

Thanks for posting the pictures, and welcome! There is a product called Tend Skin that can be helpful with cleaning the face and reducing ingrowns. It has beta hydroxy acid that helps exfoliate. You might go to a skincare specialist or dermatologist, as it appears you may have some acne related to oily skin. I believe changing your daily face washing routine may help with your complexion.

Hii
I have combination skin but post electrolysis treatment. I’m not sure what skin I have cause of the flare ups of the white pustules. Those few red bumps you see are remnants of electrolysis of last week and I stay in India it’s pretty hot rn which has driven up the humidity as well and the bacteria on my skim are having a rave party.

Do you think it’s okay to treat such a tiny hair which can only be viewed via magnifying glass? Cause my skin has become really sensitive with all the treatment

My opinion? If you have to use a magnifying glass to see the hair, you do not have a hair problem. Whether or not it’s a problem for you and worth it to continue with electrolysis is a decision you will have to make. I see this as a psychological issue exacerbated by magnification and reality distortion. If you look at your face under magnification, you will see tree trunks. If another person sees your face, even up close, the hair is invisible. My advice? Enjoy life, save your money and stop worrying about it.

Umm… I should have been more clear with my words. I meant the electrologist isn’t letting my hair grow to a length where I can see with my own eyes and she’s removing it at length where she can see it under the magnifying glass. I thought the hair needs to grow a certain length for next session of treatment to take place.

Everything sounds normal. Your electrologist knows what she is doing.

Okay thank you
