Pearls of the Practice

I wanted to share with my colleagues something simple, but very useful. I tried to post the picture below on the AEA Facebook site, but it turned out to be a comical misadventure, so I gave up for now.

I really like using a lint roller to keep the cotton sheet the client lays on, free of piles of coarse hair when I am working on backs, etc. The man’s back that I worked on for 6 hours this weekend had piles of hair falling fast in one particular area on the sheet. Every hour I would whisk the lint roller over the sheet to keep it clean. He appreciated not laying in his own hair and it makes my housekeeping less intense afterwards. Mostly, He was amazed to see how many hairs were stuck to the paper after his session. Doing 1,000 insertions an hour makes for a hairy mess, but the client feels real progress is being made after seeing all those hairs smashed together on a sticky 4 x6 sheet of paper.

(note: I accidentally tore the corner of the paper )

What a great idea! I did a three hour session on Saturday and at one point thought I’d inhaled a hair or two!

A hair-vac is another option. It functions like a small vacuum cleaner and has a washable filter that can be re-used. Removal of the handpiece activates suction.

Fantastic Dee, all we need now is one that can be used directly on to the skin to remove all treated hair… it would make for a quick clearance though maybe a bit strange !!!
