Paul Walker

A bit stunned tonight.

Paul Walker (actor) is my neighbor and lived on my street about 2 blocks away. He was killed in an auto accident tonight. Damn it … a VERY nice normal guy. So friendly to everybody and a real “working class” type of kid that hung out at our local “surfer” restaurant in my neighborhood.

I have no idea why I’m posting this on Hairtell, except that y’all are just about the only family I have these days. (I have one nephew and everybody else is bloody dead!) I don’t very much like this “dead” thing one bit. I wish people would stop doing it already … it’s getting old! Stupid really!

Telogen is fine, but no “exogen” please!
It’s funny, but some people you never expect to die. I’m in shock … Paul’s brother lives at the house and it’s a bad time for sure.

Did I hear correctly that he was en route to support a charity event? He must have been a nice person. How sad.

I hate the death part of life. That’s one glorious, but mean circle we all have to experience.

Hugs to you Michael and I really mean those words. I don’t know who Paul Walker is / was, but I’m sad for his passing, too. Everybody leaves a mark on this earth and we grieve at the unfairness of life lost too soon in a tragic way.

Sorry .

He seemed like a great guy, and his talents will be missed. The great thing about movies is that they will be with the world long past the actors life. My favorite was Eight Below. I would recommend this movie - especially to those who love dogs.

My nephew is a friend of his brother and will be heading over today. I remember the first time I saw Paul, he was walking by my house and I was watering the garden. I said, “howdy.”

Then, a couple minutes later, I thought I’d “lost it!” I thought, “did a freakin’ movie star just walk by my house?” (So far, I’ve never seen any of his movies … I’ll take a look.)

we are family , though strange and perhaps hairy. Sorry to hear of this loss Michael. Yeah the death part is such a sad thing for us and freedom perhaps for the other.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this Michael and I suppose it’s all too late anyways but I thought this was rather strange…
Why do you suppose Seattle pi published news of Paul Walker’s death (in a car accident) A DAY BEFORE the accident took place on Saturday November 30th? http://www.seattlepi.com/entertainment/tv/tvguide/article/Actor-Paul-Walker-Dead-at-40-5025023.php

He was a victim of cruel, coincidental hoax. Many celebs have been declared dead in similar pranks that would spread wild on the web. When he really died, journalists were confused and dismissive at first because of the death prank the day before.

Yahoo profiled a story today how Walker did an anonymous charity purchase of a $10,000 engagement ring for a combat vet who could not afford the ring for his girlfriend. The couple never learned of his identity till the store owner decided to tell the story now.

Hoaxes played on celebrities? Oh yeah.

Some years ago, after my cousin died in a skiing accident, I got a phone call (a week afterward) that at first seemed like some nice person offering condolences. (I was not thinking clearly and had a few pleasant conversations.)

However, this guy started calling me every day. After a few calls, he asking if I would like to offer some “inside stories.” I asked, “Who are you.” He identified himself as a writer for the “National Inquirer!”

THEN, he said, “Look, something very bad is going to be reported about your family and cousin, I need to talk with you immediately to confirm or deny these stories.”

I got mad (well super mad) and said, Listen “blank blank” … whatever it is, just print it because “we have done it all.”

He then offered me money for a story. The whole thing felt threatening and creepy … but as you can imagine I was able to deal with it. I explained that one more call would result in a harassment charge … and I never heard from the jerk again.

And, I’m nothing/nobody!

Can you imagine what celebrities have to put up with? Celebs used to have private lives. Now they get swarmed by the press. I’m with Alex Baldwin who regularly “kicks butt” against the leaches (he’s always in trouble too).

This is so sad. I wasn’t too familiar with his movies (but I did grow up on a lot of those late 90s teen movies that he was in).

He seemed like a really nice person based on his charity work.
