Over a year later (and full regrowth?)

Hey guys,

So I was wondering, hypothetical scenario: what are the minimum number of zaps across multiple treatments for a given hair to ensure its gone permanently?

I haven’t had a treatment in 2-3 months. I began electrolysis in December 2013 I think.

I originally had my upper arms treated and the elbow area. I had bad PIH but it has all resolved completely so that’s good.

But the downside is that throughout ALL the treatments I’ve had, it doesn’t seem like a dent has been made.

Confounding factors: I have a lot of hair and I’m getting more hair as I get older. But it’s only been 1.5 years so it really can’t have been that bad due to aging.

All in all, the results that people like Josefa seem to get regularly, seem so damn elusive.

Electrolysis results depend on the skills of the electrologist. If electrolysis is done properly, the results are obvious and permanent.

LDLD, Did you have laser hair removal prior to commencing electrolysis treatment? This would certainly delay progress. Also, is it possible that you now have scattered long hairs, rather than the denser growth that you began with?

LDLD spent months insisting that his PIH was permanent and there was absolutely no convincing him otherwise (by any of us) … and “finally” he states that the PIH has completely resolved. I, for one, would like to see some sort of apology …

Hah! True Michael.

LDLD, did you ever getting around to seeing Dee?

In my opinion it is hard to find an electrologist who isn’t under-treating follicles and I think that’s your ‘problem’. You need have treatment by an electrologist who is going to kill every (or almost every) follicle they treat.

tee hee … yes, I have one BIG MOUTH! Sort of a “Yank” thing? I agree with you stoppit. Major problem: undertreatment. Client concerns drive this, and so does the potential for lawsuit.

above post was longer; would NOT work … photos too … ZIP

Michael
You’re being extremely rude and presenting a dishonest summary of my PIH issue and how I’ve discussed it. Anyone can look through my previous threads and see I gradually changed my opinion.

I have a history of permanent PIH from LHR which is why I was so worried.

In fact, I still have a patch of intense PIH and ingrown hairs on my elbow that have not resolved. I just did not bring it up because they re on my elbow and I ve learned to just accept it.

@stopit
I saw Deanna Stovall - who is excellent. I recommend her or our other Dee to anyone.

I think I need more treatments to come to a conclusion though.

My issue is that, based on my first electrologist - I have no meaningful results.

Undertreatment causes. First, many electrologists are already fearful of causeing skin injury.

Add in a nervous client that says he/she has sensitive skin and wants no manifestations … PIH or SCARS (they always say "scars.)

So, guess what … the electrologist turns down the current and (big surprise here) “all the hairs keep growing back!”

Sometimes clients should "come with a “warning sign!” I’m trying to think of a good one here. Any suggestions?

I do, but I’m much too refined to say it.

If the current is too weak, the hair might just be plucked instead of being zapped.

This is true, and undertreatment may be the cause. It’s way too common

I’ve made a thread here:

wow so i can finally comment

What kind of energy levels would we be talking about (qualitatively speaking, not exact numbers)?

I had severe PIH that lasted a year (without any results too) on my bicep when my first electrologist turned up the energy (and stayed in the follicle long).

I’m not the kind of client who tries the treatment and then vanishes. I was with my first electrologist for almost a year before I quit electrolysis. I also had very frequent treatments for months at a time (every week).

It’s difficult to accurately parse the results, but what I can say for sure is that I was left with severe ingrown hairs and PIH on my elbow (still today). All the PIH is gone but I have hair where everything was treated, so no results.

I’m presently seeing Deanna Stovall (who is great), but have only gone in for 2 treatments so far (school, research, etc. keeping me busy).

It takes me 3 hours to get to my electrologist, and I still don’t know what kind of side effects I need to endure to get results.

One year of treatment and you can not see results? My God, this is totally unacceptable. I do not understand what happened, but the concept of electrolysis that I know do not fit with those poor results.

In last September I recorded a video to show how to calculate the TTT. https://youtu.be/mU3BhEkkwPA
In this video, I did an hour on my son leg. Since then, the area has not been touched again. Today, I took a picture to check the results, and here it is:

8 months later, the results are clear and evident.

Immediately after. September 2014

Today.

2015 and no one has yet invented a system of permanent hair removal that exceeds the results of Electrolysis. I do not know what you received in exchange for your money, but I can assure you that electrolysis was not.
