OTC anesthetics for electrolysis?

Hello,

As I mentioned in the past, I started growing hair in weird areas after receiving laser. One of those areas is on the sides of my torso. Basically, under my armpit to just below my nipple. There isn’t a lot, but it is longer and dark. Anyway, I have been getting treatment with electrolysis for about 1.5 months and it is almost all gone. HOWEVER, this crap HURTS!!! I mean I sweating bullets and squeezing things and kicking my legs. I tolerate pain fairly well and I’m not one of those whiney patients you problably get all too often. It’s just really uncomfortable and I was hoping you could provide some info on a product that is OTC. Any help would be great!

Thank You

Mike

Are you talking topical or oral pain relief??

EMLA is pretty darn good when applied correctly for the right amount of time. You can order it online without a prescription. A Canadian Pharmacy is where you will find it. Do a google search.

Are you receiving blend or thermolysis? MicroFlash? Yes, it is ouchy in this area, but sometimes equipment used can make it much more tolerable. Some brands of epilators offer better energy options than others. Inserion skills can be a problem, too, that’s why vision equipment matters. With that said, there may not be a practitioner that fulfills everything you need within your locale, So, we are back to EMLA. There are so many things that need to be in place for the deadliest most comfortable treatment possible.

I highly recommend EMLA. Use it correctly and the medication will go deep to the nerve bundle that surround these hairs. Occulsion can help to warm the area so the EMLA is absorbed deeper. Others may have their favorite solutions to offer and I hope they do.

Are you absolutely positive that this is laser-induced hair or was it meant to become active anyway at this time in your life.?

I am a big fan of putting ice on the area before starting body work. Be careful not to freeze the skin and every once in a while your electrologist will have to reapply. It makes such a huge difference!

When I used to get laser treatments they used to have this can of air that they would spray on the skin. It would leave it feeling numb for about 10 seconds. It was just really really cold air and it worked better than anything I’ve experienced so far, wish I knew what it was.

Hi:

I use Emla, but there are other similar products such as L-M-X.
The key is to follow the directions carefully and leave it on for an hour before treatment. I only use it on areas where I feel the pain more. I don’t need it for my face anymore.

It is rather expensive at about $50 for a 30g tube, and it can be a bit messy.

It was probably the same freeze spray used for wart removal. Those are now available OTC as well in the USA.
