hello again andrea. what can you tell me about this “oral treatments” and over the counter products? is there any experimental stuff you know about and i can search the web?
Products taken orally have two types: prescription and over-the-counter.
The prescription drugs are anti-androgens, or hormone blockers. They are designed to block receptors in cells that are affected by hormones, like hair follicles. The only problem is that they work systemically, not locally. in other words, they affect your entire body, not just your hair. Because of this they are only available by prescription. They can cause side effects like sterility, sexual dysfunction, weight gain, and a number of other serious side effcts that you’d need to talk to a doctor about before taking them.
Over the counter pills and dietary supplements have no published proof they can affect hair removal, so I recommend avoiding these products.
