one year later...

hey everyone, i am a 29 year old male. i’ve been receiving electrolysis treatments for approximately one year. i usually have it done every three weeks, so i guess i’ve had about 15-17 treatments by now. im working on having the area between my eyebrows and a little patch of hair just below my throat removed. it typically takes my practitioner an hour and 15 mins. to remove all the hair. it seems to me that i should be seeing results by now but, i honestly don’t think that i have. i feel like i should have taken pictures because she seems to think there has been some improvement. although i do enjoy our time together and think that shes an honest person, this is getting kinda expensive for something that hasn’t worked. do you guys think i should be seeing more noticeable results after one year? should i find a new practitioner? any replys would be greatly appreciated

Yes, you should have definitely seen results by now (though most people tend to forget what they started with and taking pictures back then would have helped). Can you take pictures now at least to help judging future reduction.

Also, please share whether you’re male or female and your age. And also what type of electrolysis your electrologist uses.

Do you feel hairs being plucked ever or do they come out easily after being zapped? Has the treatment time ever decreased or it’s been stable at 1 hr 15mins for a year? That’s not normal.

thanks for the reply, lagirl. i am a 29 year old male. i believe the type of electrolysis is a “blend”. it seems like half the time i do feel them being “plucked”. its always taken about 1 hr. 15 mins.

If it feels like the hair is being plucked, that’s not good. How many electrologists have you tried before settling on this one? I would recommend to test out a couple more to compare things. Also, any type of thermolysis would be faster too.

this was actually the first one i tried. she seemed like she knew what she was talking about. how long should i test an electrologist before moving on? how long should a session take for what im doing? also, i was told that the blended was most effective. can you direct me to some info about thermolysis and its effectiveness? thanks again for the information and your suggestions.

I am a diy’er and I have been working on myself and my family for about a year and a half. I figure for the first few months I was not getting the hairs to release correctly but with practice I am getting better and I can definately say I have a lot less hair. If you can not tell there is a great amount of difference in that amount on time I would find someone else.

I took pictures and I know there is a difference. Taking a picture is a great idea!!

I would be positive that you have had some improvement, but your lack of “Before” pictures is making it hard to tell what that level of improvement has been.

What may be at issue here is how many hairs per session she was removing in the early stages. Now that all hairs are being removed each and every time, you should get to final clearance soon.
