One Touch Home Kit - burn, red

Hi i recently used the one touch on my cheeks to remove some hairs there, i did successfully remove a couple of hairs from that area but then the next day i ended up with red marks which then turned into scabs, which says to me i burnt my skin, does anyone know how i can accelerate the healing process? i heard that vitamin e cream would be good? any suggestions?

Also when a whitish fluid pops out, does that mean the hair follicle has been killed?

That whitish fluid is the lye being produced. It doesn’t necessarily mean the hair is dead. I’ve tried One-Touch and I just don’t have good results. Like you, I get scabbing and usually a distorted hair regrows. I’m let a professional do the work now.

Tea Tree Oil (Melelauca Alternafolia) overnight and Aloe Vera during the day will speed healing, as well as minimize scabbing, and puss.

White froth only confirms lye production. If your insertion is off (like it most likely is when one is doing work on oneself on the face) it is easy to burn everything BUT the follicle.

thanks for the reply, so the only indicators that suggest i have treated/killed the hair is if the hair can be tweezed out after being treated without resistance?? is that correct?

As is stated around the board, yes, the only indication you will have of a well treated hair is that it releases easily and has a fully intact bulb/root sheath that comes out with the hair. Of course, if you over treat the area, you will dissolve all that and will have just a melted nothing coming out.
