It will work for a small quantity of hairs. It is hard to use and the unit is flimsy.
Good luck, be careful not to scar yourself.
Absolutely agreed about flimsy probes and all together cheap build. When i used it it was actually efficient enough to justify 20$ and worked well on what became (eventually) quite a large area. But because it is a galvanic machine it didn’t play well with my eczema, in fact it really seemed to bring out the worst in the area where the metal band and salt water on the skin makes contact.
The device does work and I own 2 of them. Bought both around $20, the first one I think was from the 80s they sent me off eBay so bought another which was newer and have literally never used it. It’s just too awkward to do on yourself. I couldn’t even imagine doing your face with it you wouldn’t know where to put the probe. I have a very little amount of hair on the top of my feet so I bought it mostly for that. It definitely does work, like you feel it and the hairs slide out easily and have the bulb at the end but it’s so time consuming.
The problem is that the probes used in this machine are too large, and the hand piece is too clumsy for the fine work we are doing here. In the case of many hairs, the probe/needle tip this product uses is larger than the follicle, so one has to burn through the skin to treat the hair. I have seen people who have used this product when it was least appropriate, and suffer the consequences.
I used a one touch to remove some of my facial hairs before I decided to buy a real machine, it definitely does work but like everyone else said… it is slow, painful, and the probe is very large yet flimsy.
If you are treating only a small number of hairs and they are relatively coarse/thick facial hairs then one-touch is a good solution. If the hairs are not very coarse then the probe will likely be too large which gives increased risk of scarring/pitting, as James hinted at above.
See, this would be a better use of your time and money, and the price is right! http://www.ebay.com/itm/180828295813
the missing parts can be had by order from Texas electrolysis supply, or direct from Careblend, as would be any possible service it may need, but it probably just needs the cords.
