I’m just about ready to give up on LHR. Some of you may know that I’ve had three laser hair treatments at a spa and twice, at the same spa, I was burned by the GentleLASE PLUS. The first treatment was with the CoolGLIDE.

Well, the spa claimed bankruptcy! It is no longer in service and now I am out over $8,000.00 for six treatments (or $4,000 for three treatments, which I haven’t gotten even though I was burned by treatments two and three).

I did some research and finally found a dermatologist’s office who would take over the next three treatments for me, thank heaven. One treatment with this new place on the CoolGLIDE and everything was good. No burns, no itching, not even any redness. I made an appointment at the eight week mark (the maximum alloted time between six to eight weeks) for my next appointment, which is today.

Yesterday I had a follow up call to remind me of my appointment from the receptionist. A few hours later I recieved another call from the RN doing the LHR procedure. She called me to tell me that the CoolGLIDE was gone! It was sent back the week before because there is a new LHR machine coming, but she doesn’t know when!!!

Am I cursed or what? Not only am I out of payment from the first spa, I am scrambling around looking for a new place to get service from because the second place no longer has the same laser that I went there for!!! And I have white circles all over my legs from the GentleLASE PLUS and a dark circle under my jaw line from the same (GLP) laser.

Everyone keeps trying to talk me into what ever laser they have available (Impulsed light, GLP, GL) and what is available doesn’t fit my skin type. One laser doesn’t work for everyone. What are these people trying to pull? I let the first spa talk me into two treatments with the GentleLASE PLUS because they lost their lease on the CoolGLIDE and they told me that I would DO WELL with the cryogenic laser. They were WRONG!! And now I am one suffering from both hypo and hyper pigmentation!

I was able to scramble around and find another place that has the 1064 ND:yag (yes, they have the CoolGLIDE), but since I am having so many parts done with such short notice, I have to break apart the appointments and drive a long distance both times.

Last night I was thinking of abandoning all of the LHR! I can’t seem to win!!!

You should have read all the information on the site HairFacts.com and ElectrolysisInformation.com before you started any treatments.

Our office averages 2 new x-laser patients per week. Many had no results, some had a little and in many cases the laser operator went out of business. In all casses the money they spent is so much more then electrology treatment.

Many sue and get most of their money back!

Your story is becoming the norm in America today.

Your story is really more common than you might think. This is why I tell everyone that the so called Warrantees offered at LASER clinics are worthless. The average situation is one where a person buys a package, gets 3 to 6 treatments, and when they go for the promised “Free Treatments” the responcible party hs gone bankrupt, or moved, or in some other way shielded themselves from having to back up the promise.
At that point the person is out lots of money, still has hair, and is in need of money to start electrolysis treatments. More upsetting is when a friend started electrolysis treatments at the same time, and spent the same or less money, but has better, and or more results to show for their time and money.

Wow, I am sorry to hear that you are still having problems! I have to agree that you must be cursed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

You even mentioned that you tried electrology and spent hours and hours and lots of money on that too, but your electrologist must have been doing something wrong because that didn’t work, either.

I haven’t been posting much, but I am still doing well with my treatments. I have my next session on Friday. This will be 5 on chin and lip, and 6 on underarms. I stopped at 5 on my abdomen and it has been fine, so I’ll end there and see what happens.

Underarms are doing well. Just a few small patches left to try to clean up.

Chin is about 80 to 85% clear. Hoping this next session will get most of it. Then not sure if I’ll hop into electrolysis or what next. I’m worried about how long I have to let the hair grow out so they can treat it. Yikes! Hope it doesn’t have to be too long. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
