I’m just about ready to give up on LHR. Some of you may know that I’ve had three laser hair treatments at a spa and twice, at the same spa, I was burned by the GentleLASE PLUS. The first treatment was with the CoolGLIDE.
Well, the spa claimed bankruptcy! It is no longer in service and now I am out over $8,000.00 for six treatments (or $4,000 for three treatments, which I haven’t gotten even though I was burned by treatments two and three).
I did some research and finally found a dermatologist’s office who would take over the next three treatments for me, thank heaven. One treatment with this new place on the CoolGLIDE and everything was good. No burns, no itching, not even any redness. I made an appointment at the eight week mark (the maximum alloted time between six to eight weeks) for my next appointment, which is today.
Yesterday I had a follow up call to remind me of my appointment from the receptionist. A few hours later I recieved another call from the RN doing the LHR procedure. She called me to tell me that the CoolGLIDE was gone! It was sent back the week before because there is a new LHR machine coming, but she doesn’t know when!!!
Am I cursed or what? Not only am I out of payment from the first spa, I am scrambling around looking for a new place to get service from because the second place no longer has the same laser that I went there for!!! And I have white circles all over my legs from the GentleLASE PLUS and a dark circle under my jaw line from the same (GLP) laser.
Everyone keeps trying to talk me into what ever laser they have available (Impulsed light, GLP, GL) and what is available doesn’t fit my skin type. One laser doesn’t work for everyone. What are these people trying to pull? I let the first spa talk me into two treatments with the GentleLASE PLUS because they lost their lease on the CoolGLIDE and they told me that I would DO WELL with the cryogenic laser. They were WRONG!! And now I am one suffering from both hypo and hyper pigmentation!
I was able to scramble around and find another place that has the 1064 ND:yag (yes, they have the CoolGLIDE), but since I am having so many parts done with such short notice, I have to break apart the appointments and drive a long distance both times.
Last night I was thinking of abandoning all of the LHR! I can’t seem to win!!!
