NYC Laser Nurse

I just got my very first laser hair removal yesterday.
My friend recommended her especially since she’s affordable, professional (has been doing it for a long time). Obviously I couldn’t just go to anyone since you don’t want to be burned, etc.

It was really fast–easy–wasn’t painful. Literally took about under a minute per underarm. She does all over body.

Try Lynda Christine, RN (917) 656-2106

You can see her in the East Village–Manhattan.

I love her. And will be going back in a short while.

can you expand on your treatment? what laser? settings? what’s your skin and hair type? how many treatments did you have? how are you judging the effectiveness if you’ve only had one treatment and sounds like no shedding yet? granted this lady has been recommended before, it helps to provide a bit more info for this to be helpful to others and sound legit. and i hope you’ll be coming back to post your final results.

Hi Jimmyjames,

I don’t know if the above is a plant/advertisement, but I’m happy to share a little bit of my personal experience with using Lynda Christine (LaserNurse) for my laser hair removal treatment.

I first started going to Lynda Christine in 2005 after she was recommended to me by my boss who had been receiving laser treatment on her legs with excellent results (smooth as a baby’s bottom).

I have tan colored skin with dark, corse hair and was getting sick and tired of having to shave my underarms, legs and bikini area almost every other day - not to mention the irritation that came with having to go through this ritual so often! My hair just seemed to start growing back the moment I shaved it off!

So after my boss’ recommendation, I decided to set an appointment with Lynda Christine and have never looked back! I started with my underarms and throughout the years have worked my way to include my bikini area and legs. I do have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about seeing any immediate change due to the fact that my hair is extremely dark and thick, but was delighted to see such positive results after just my first treatment!!

The laser she uses on me is the Light Sheer Diode on 2 different settings at 25 joules. One of the settings is called auto, which is stronger and the other setting is 30ms, which is gentler-used for darker skin or really coarse/dense hair like mine.

As to Lynda Christine’s character:
First of all, she is very professional and dedicated to her clients and her profession. She has been doing this for the past 10 years and is also a registered nurse. She has always made me feel very comfortable during our sessions, especially those that require her to get up close and personal to those “private” areas. She is honest and serious about your safety. She once refused to treat me because I had come back extremely tan from my two week beach vacation. Her hours are flexible, her prices affordable, and you can tell she really enjoys what she does!

I hope this helps anyone in the NYC area that is curious about, considering and/or looking for a laser hair removal specialist!

CORRECTION –

I started going to Lynda Christine in 2006 (not 2005) AND she was also a recommendation from this forum (lagirl).

Thanks,
Belladonna!

Thanks belladonna.

Can you provide any specifics on your results? How many treatments have you had on each area? What is the percentage reduction that you have achieved? When did you stop treatments?

It’s a good thing she refused to treat you after that vacation, even on lower settings you can get a pretty nasty burn if you do LHR after so much direct exposure to the sun.

We once had a client who went on vacation like you did and she didn’t say anything and you couldn’t see anything different on her, and we did photo facial on her face and her face stayed black for like 3 weeks. It was so bad that she didn’t want to leave her home. Normally the treated area should become darker for like 3 days and then it brighten up.

I would be happy to share my results. I have had treatment on the following areas: Underarms, Bikini, Lower Legs.

My underarms and my bikini area saw the most success rate - 100% - hair all gone!!! I did about 6 treatments for underarms and 8 treatments on bikini, each every 6 weeks and immediately saw shedding of my hair. The growth rate became less frequent and my hair grew back much thinner each time until there was nothing there. I would shave the treated areas the night before my scheduled appointed, but times I would forget Lynda would shave it for me at my session.

My first session was the most painful as I not only have very low tolerance for pain, but I also have very thick dark hair. But, as my hair grew back thinner, the pain became significantly less at each session. Although I did note that there were certain areas on my bikini and underarms that always seemed to be more sensitive to the laser. I assume this was where the main thickness of my growth was.

Treatment on my lower legs started about a year after my underarms and bikini. That’s also when I started my new job that required me to travel 7 months out of the year, which made going to my sessions every 6 weeks impossible. Because my treatments were inconsistent I would put my success rate of my lower legs at about 80%. Most of the re-growth happened on my lower knee area, where there is the most concentration of thick hair. That’s why it’s so important to keep up with your treatment schedule.

I haven’t really stopped my treatments I just don’t go as recommended due to my travels. Some treatment is better than no treatment at all.

Hope this helped

Thanks for sharing.

Legs have long hair cycles. You actually shouldn’t need treatments there more often than once every 10-12 weeks.

Every 6 weeks is too soon for most areas, except for some facial hair cases. You shouldn’t have that much hair to treat at 6 weeks. 8-12 weeks is good timing for most areas.

I’m glad you’ve had good results. LightSheer is just fine for light skin in good hands - it’s very important to know how to use it and sounds like this clinic does.
