Not sure if laser will work on arms??

I have had four treatments so far with laser hair removal on my arms. I’m using the Lyra laser. I remember you guys told me before it’s not that great of a laser but she is a bit cheaper than other places I’ve called. It hurts like HELL though!! Even with numbing cream.

So here are two pics right before my fourth treatment which I scheduled 8 weeks apart. One is a top view of my arm the other is the bottom of my arm sort of, it looks hairer from that angle. I myself have noticed it’s patchy and way less hair but I’m not sure if it will eventually all come back because I’ve had bad experiences with laser on my face. I wish I took a before pic but I didn’t. Oh and most of the hairs are shedding like they’re suppose to. Do you think I should continue with a few more treatments? I would like to finish my arms with electrolysis but I just wanted to thin it out with laser first.

Your hair is not coarse or dense enough for laser, and Lyra will definitely not do much to this hair the way it is now. You should really switch to electrolysis at this point unless you can handle high settings on a GentleLASE (it may be worth a couple treatments, but then you’ll have to switch anyway).

LAgirl are you saying the hair is coarse enough for laser?

No, I said it’s not.

Hmm really…I actually thought it was pretty coarse. But it actually was worse before and I’ve only had four treatments so far and I didn’t think it could work that fast. If this hair isn’t thick enough I probably shouldn’t have wasted trying laser on my stomach then because the hair is even finer, but it’s everywhere.

One other thing, the hair is shedding a lot. Doesn’t that mean it could be working? On my stomach nothing was shedding at all that’s why I stopped. So shedding doesn’t necessarily mean it’s working then?

Yes, most women’s stomach hair is not coarse enough for laser. The happy trail is sometimes on some women, but the rest is not.

Yes, shedding doesn’t necessarily mean it’s working. You can have a couple treatments and see, as I mentioned before. It could be powerful enough to shed, but not enough heat attracted by that hair to damage the hair permanently.
