No! No! System

This post may very well be in the wrong forum, but I couldn’t figure out which of the existing categories it does belong in. Admin types feel free to move it…

Does anyone have any experience with the No! No! Hair Removal System? They claim a long-term reduction over time, using a surface-level application of heat. I didn’t find any mention of it searching here, and Amazon reviews are all over the map, from “ripoff” to “best thing since sliced bread”.

In case it makes a difference, I’m coming to the whole subject as a transgender issue. I’m starting from being not too hairy (for a guy), with most of the body hair that I do have being dark color/light texture and a fairly thin beard (about a third of which is going grey, though that hasn’t started on the body).

Not 100% sure, but I think it just singes the hair off. So it would only be surface removal, like shaving or depilatory. Can someone else chime in?

It doesn’t offer permanent removal in any way shape or form. The reason you can’t find it mentioned here (even though it has been talked about many many times) is because the makers chose a name which hinders it’s ability to be searched for in our search engine (and others). It has been noted that this was probably intentional so that it is difficult to obtain product info from anyone other than the company itself.

Please read www.tsroadmap.com Pay particular attention to the hair removal section. There you will learn that electrolysis is the gold standard of hair removal. If you want facial hair removed with total certainty, you do electrolysis. If you have money to gamble (maybe you win, maybe you lose, maybe its a tie) you might try L.A.S.E.R. and then switch to electrolysis, but electro will be the final word either way.

Oh, I know I’ll need electro for my face, if nothing else, eventually. But seeing as how I’m unemployed at the moment, I was hoping for something that lasts longer than shaving, and is either cheap or, at least, a one-time outlay. Oh, well, at eBay prices it was worth asking about…

If you tell us your location, you may be able to hook up with either some student work, or get an electrolysis buddy to do work with. (You do know that is pet peeve number one here, no location in profile)

No, I didn’t realize that was pet peeve number one. I’ll fix it Real Soon Now…

As I’m a sucker for these things  I bought a no no gadget about a year ago. It’s a pain to use, merely singes the hair which you then need to shave or wax off anway, smells awful, sometimes burns your skin leaving temporary red marks, takes a long time to use as it only catches a minority of hairs on each pass… and really the logic of it makes no sense. I can’t see how it can damage the root. You’d be better off with an epilator.

Me, I’m now doing electrolysis, having tried everything else.
