New to this need some advice

:)Thank you so much for your direct answers. I live in Illinois, Gurnee that is and I would like to find someone who is in the area, GREAT and does not cost an arm and a leg sort a speak!! I’m new to the site and would like to know where to go to understand the terms and different venues I can take in order to get this done. What is Electrolysis exactly and is it the best way to get rid of hair for GOOD!?!

:confused:And if not, what would you say works best for someone who is a little bit hairy and would like to take care of sensitive areas. Like the upper lip, chin, nipples, butt, bikini area, toes and eventually legs. And does getting your arm pitts done show signs of being permanent by any of these ways as well? And why are you telling me to STOP PLUCKING, is this really that bad for you, I think even JLO gets PLUCKED!?! I take a low dose of Prednisone but I’ve been on it since 2004. My hair has been pretty much the same, maybe a little more but again I factor in weather and my cycle as well as the meds.

:(Anyways, please give this to someone who has the time to answer these meaningless questions. I know these are not technical questions that will rock your world, I just need a little help getting started please!! And are you telling people to do these things because you want to see more money go to these types of services!?! I’m going to guess that you may be bais when it comes to refering people and that’s okay but I would like to know the proof to the statements, not just don’t do this and leave at that!

:confused:What’s best for Facial Hair Removal and Proof why?

What’s best for other areas that are Sensitive and the Proof?

Where to go in Gurnne IL that is great, not pricy and will get the job done?

Proof on Plucking why it’s so bad?

And is there a HAIR REMOVAL SYSTEM THAT WORK’S FOR GOOD and the PROOF as well?

;)Thank you so much for listening!! Wising you all pain free days always!!

Where is Gurnee, Illinois? With that out of the way, let me say that you have a lot of questions that have already been answered many times over here on hairtell. They are important questions and I don’t have a lot of time to go into detail with you.

For definitions and terms, you will have to search out the answers for yourself. Go to www.hairfacts.com and read about electrolysis yourself. Read the laser faq’s page, too.

You want a lot of areas taken care of and electrolysis can do all the areas you mention, but laser would be appropriate for the bikini, rumpy dump, underarms (or “pits”) and legs if the hair is the right color and you have pale skin. Understand that you will still need a good electrologist to clean up the “crumbs” after laser has done all it can do.

If J-Lo plucks certain areas, then she shouldn’t. Tell her I said that next time you see her, okay? Plucking is forbidden after you start a laser or electrolysis program. You can sneak it in if you don’t mind wasting your money and prolonging the hair removal outcome.

We don’t give advice here to make money or to help someone else make money, so don’t worry that we may be profitting (horrible word, isn’t it?) by giving you advice. We electrologists actually get bombarded by the laser industry, print media and hard-held myths that electrolysis sucks, so we need to repeat and repeat until we are cyanotic that electrolysis is still the gold standard for permanent hair removal and it does work 100% of the time, every time it is performed correctly. Of course, when there are “bad” practitoners out there worldwide scarring people and not delivering results, that makes the convincing part harder to do, but we carry it on.

So your job, if you are the motivated type, is to devote some time and energy and read the electrolysis and laser sections here on hairtell. It’s a thick book, but you will learn a lot. After you do your research, then the hard part comes to find a good electrologist. Our numbers are dwindling and some parts of the world don’t have any electrologists. So, being that you are in the great state of Illinois, you are in a better position than, let’s say, the women in India.

Your questions are not meaningless and I hope electrolysis and laser will rock your world.

P.S. Skilled permanent hair removal/reduction is not cheap, instant or easy. How’s that for being unbiased?

Dee, You are so very wise! I love that P.S.!!!
