New to electrolysis

Hi! I am new to hair tell and to electrolysis. I just started treatments on my jaw line, cheeks and chin. I have gone for two15 minute sessions spaced a week apart so far. In the past I have bleached (which I still do), shaved, done laser and most recently tweezed… I have resorted to tweezing for the past 6 or 7 years which I know is bad and has now resulted in hyperpigmentation on my skin. I have not tweezed since my sessions started. I had some scabbing after both sessions (I will try and upload pics). I mentioned this to my electrolygist and she said it is because of the way my hair grows and my skin should react better with more sessions. Also I did feel a slight plucking sensation with a lot of hairs and she said it is because the hairs are older and there is not a lot of moisture in the root. Could it also be due to the fact that I tweezed for so long?? She uses the blend technique and I think she removed close to 80 or 90 hairs the last session.

The pics I have taken are 2 days post electrolysis. Keep in mind I did have some slight redness and hyperpigmentation from my previous hair removal attempts. Unfortunately I do not have any before pics.

I don’t see this level of scabbing after facial electrolysis. Having said that I don’t often use Blend. Seeing as Blend is, arguably, gentler, however, I would still not expect to see this result.
You said ‘a lot’ of plucking was felt. Very little or no plucking should be felt with any method.
If the hairs were ones without moisture, Blend is not the first choice of method.

Those marks will heal but maybe you could discuss with your electrolysist whether she would use thermolysis instead?
She could also use a good insulated probe if she isn’t already as these would definitely reduce skin damage.

Ok thanks. I will talk to her on Wednesday. Would it be possible that my aftercare made my skin worse? I used witch hazel and aloe. I did have to wear makeup the day after my session because I had to work. Could that have made it worse??
