Hi all I stopped going to the place with the IPL ( http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/93591/Advice_before_my_next_IPL_trea.html#Post93591 ) I am having treatment done at a place with a GentleYAG, they also have a gentleLASE. In my previous post you can see my skin type and colour. The operator at this new place said because of my background, Iranian that I am a IV. I intended to do my back, shoulders, back of neck and some facial hair on cheek, near eye. He done a small test patch on my shoulder at 20j on 15mm but I intend to increase the power. Now my question is, I hear you guys talk about coarse hair, what exactly does it look like? It it anything like the 2nd image in my previous thread?

my facial hair looks abit like this however darker and not as fine, going from the top of my beard to around my eyebrow.

One more question would it be alright to use hair removal cream instead of shaving?

From what I saw in your previous thread, your back and shoulder hair is coarse. I would be careful with the facial hair, however, as this is a delicate area that can get more hair from laser. :expressionless:

I had similar upper lip hair to that picture you have and I tried one session and didn’t see the hair getting affected, so I stopped.

Most places tell you to shave, not sure about depilatory creams, as I believe some claim to get underneath the surface of the skin (although I think that is highly unlikely).
