I just want to share that I am a single 41 yr. old male. I am one who does not like body hair, at all. I shave everything, from the neck down. I keep the hair on my head pretty short. I get alot of nice compliments on my legs, mostly from women. I am not gay, I just enjoy shaving, I feel alot cleaner when I do. For me, to get a really good shave, I’ll wait about a week and a half. Then when I do shave, I get a nice, close shave. I follow up with Skin so soft lotion by Avon. It keeps my skin silky smooth. I experiment with different shave gels. As far as I’m concerned, they all work the same. I’m hesistant on waxing, I hear the horror stories about how it hurts. But also, waxing lasts longer than shaving, so I’ve read. Can anyone tell me about waxing? Should I give it a try? Anyways, thank you for reading this.
In your situation, I would avoid waxing, as the increased pain, and the distortion of the follicles, and change in the regrowth of the hairs would not be what I believe you would want to experience.
At the moment, when you let your hair grow, it grows reasonably straight, and all in one direction. After waxing, some hairs will grow back sort of wiry on most guys, and you run the risk of causing double haired follicles. You may have noticed that you already have some in the area where your socks cover your legs. That is from the elastic pulling your hairs out by the root.
With the cost of waxing being what it is, you would be best off to go for a permanent solution, instead of exploring waxing… that is as long as you could live with the idea of never growing hair on your legs ever again.
